I've rarely had a rough day after a pill. It's the 'Tuesday' syndrome that gets me - whether I have to function or not, the long, dark teatime of the soul will invariably hit 3 days after a sesh, and I know I'm not alone in this...

I usually a nice comedown, but I like to smoke some cannabis it seems
to smoth everything out and keep me on top. Though when I took several
pills a night I could feel very low in the middle of the week but
taking 5htp/serotonin seems to help that.

Fucking spot on. I am so mellow, and just grinning on the inside when I think about the night before.

In all truthfulness, on more than one occasion, I have said to the
people I have been with "God, I'm looking forward to tomorow", because
I do, utterly

Wow,

I guess I'm the odd chick out...I find the comedown from most street E
pretty harsh, especially if it's dirty shit, cut with speed or
crystal. Pure MDMA is a breeze to come off- in fact, it usually
gives me a glow for days. It's just so hard to find here in
Toronto.

I've heard if you take an SSRI antidepressant the morning after, the
'crash' will be muted somewhat. Weed seems to help...sometimes I
swear if I smoke a joint when my E buzz is starting to wear off, it can
bring me back to a higher state of consciousness.

Has anyone else found that weed can prolong the E buzz? White Cross/ephedrine pills can too.

Yeah, the first time I rolled and was sketching the day after, my friend offered me some pot. I said I didn't want it, but she replied "Yes, you really do". Man, pot blasts you right back up there. For me anyway

And Micklemouse, you're not alone on the tuesday syndrome... I've had depression last for a week after a roll. That sucked

5htp, a strong Bvitamin complex, good diet, and not taking E too often help a lot in avoiding the prolonged crash, I've found(it can take 4-8 weeks to replenish serotonin). As does a slow but steady Gin session after the party, but be careful not to dehydrate if boozing on pills! Vodka and orange is rather fine too...

Weed certainly works, as do shrooms in small amounts, little lines of pill, and ket, if you're feeling really dirty, can be a lot of fun(again in small doses- watch out for those holes kittlings!)!

The day after is what I have heard called the Afterglow. And that word is exactly what I would use to describe the feeling. Just all warm and cozy. Relaxed and tired, but not tired enough to go to sleep. Thinking about the night before with this stupid look on my face. Ahhhhh the afterglow!

Now my wife on the other hand. She is absolutely miserable the day after. No cuddling, kissing, sex!She just wants to be left alone.

take 5htp before going out and some after you get back in and it kicks out the comedown to a certain extent and keeps your serotonin levels up. this aint a reason to go dropping like a fool tho - its only a significiant enough amount to keep ya brain from crashin!

Good to see 5-htp getting the recognition it deserves. Its a
miracle pill for us guys. And you might even meet a few
closet-MDMA-users in Holland and Barrett who know EXACTLY why you are
buying 5-htp

5-htp turns into serotonin in your brain.

It is often sold as:</span>

A 'diet' aid - as serotonin regulates your hunger

A 'sleep' aid - as serotonin regulates your sleep

A mild 'anti-depressant' - as, as we all know</span>, serotonin regulates your mood.

5ht is serotonin, therefore 5htp is the processing agent that creates serotonin.

however, dont think that it will start working straight away; you have to take it so that there is enough in your body for it to actually start doing anything; like antibiotics or something like that.

it breaks crashes into mild come downs and mild come downs into no come down really. you tend to feel happier where before you would have felt depressed after come down for the reasons as stated by megalev!

its £14.99 from holland and barret

Much cheaper source for the UK :

http://www.discountsupplements.co.uk...oductinfo.asp? product=27

300 x 50mg for £30.

I think you get 75 x 50mg for £15 at Holland & Barrett (although
you can pick up some multivitamin tablets whilst your in there, which
is a good shout if you're planning on dropping often )

Oh, and Vitamin B gets the 5htp more active, quicker (The Holland &
Barret stuff comes with a small dose of Vitamin B in it).. Otherwise,
you can always have some Marmite on Toast

There is an ongoing discussion about 5-htp supplements and vitamin B6.

It is true that for the 5-htp -&gt; 5-ht reaction you need vitamin B6.

However this reaction can also occur in the liver. If there is enough vitamin B6 present it is possible that all 5-htp is converted to 5-ht in the liver before it can reach the brain. 5-ht (serotonin) cannot pass the blood brain barrier so it is wasted.

Thats why i take a combination of 5-htp and l_tryptophan.
The reaction l_tryptophan -&gt; 5-htp can only take place in the brain. That way the 5-ht formed can actually be used at the right place.

Just have to say, balls to Holland and Barrett, for no other reason than that they are vastly over priced, big business! Go to your local health food shop, and ask for Hydroxytryptophan(L-5 HTP). It should be a lot cheaper and you'll have the lovely karmic glow that comes from supporting local business!

Prozac's been shown to lessen neurotoxicity and ease the comedown somewhat, as it blocks the serotonin receptors, stopping dopamine getting in by mistake. Not sure about the other SSRI's though - they each have a different action, and bind to slightly different receptors. Personally I'd stick to 5htp, as it actually helps replenish the serotonin you've used, and Prozac just keeps it circulating, and uses up even more.

must agree that the day after can be good. but it can be shite too. depends what im doing. i find that a few beers and a nice spliff will make all the difference. plus a coupla hours sleep - only roughly 3 are needed, youll feel tired when you wake up but about half an hour later youll be fine.

agree with whoever said that some nice weed can bring you back up partially - i love sitting down, having a fat spliff and floating away all loved up the following evening

even tuesday blues can be overcome, just like drugs, its a case of what you do midweek. working doesnt help. watch soppy feel good films or something. have a laugh with your mates. going to the pub for a coupla pints doesnt hurt either. just dont get too drunk or youll feel like crap in the morning, half the reason you feel bad is lack of sleep...
