An overdose on methadone and xanax would be as relatively painless as heroin right?

SWIM has noticed a combination of the two feels almost like h.SWIM is looking for options to go out on his own terms. These are the ones he has the easiest access to so he figures it would be the best shot.Drinking and acetaminophen just sounds nasty, nothing fun about liver failure.SWIM want's a sure way out though.

Re: An overdose on methadone and xanax would be as relatively painless as heroin...

First off, you do realise this a Harm-Reduction site above all else? Giving advice on how best to kill one's self, as well as going against what this site is about, also puts the site at risk. Anybody replying to this post, either here or in private message, with advice on how to commit suicide could be seen to be assisting suicide, & the site by association could be seen to be doing the same. This is not going to happen.

Secondly, has SWiO_S any idea how hard it is to kill one's Self deliberately by overdosing? The answer is very. A Certain Mouse has worked in psychiatry for many years, & in that time has dealt with hundreds of overdoses, some involving combinations that should on paper kill several elephants. He can count on one hand the number of these overdoses that even succeeded in causing lasting damage, never mind actually had the desired effect. He knows people who have thrown themselves off high-rise buildings, high bridges, thrown themselves under cars, & have all survived. There is no guarantee that a suicide attempt will succeed. There is every chance, in fact I guarantee it, that whatever the outcome, that it will cause pain to others, & if it doesn't shock them into sorting their shit out, an even greater sense of failure to the person attempting it, leading to a cycle of further attempts, just as likely to not work. An unsuccessful overdose with this combination could easily leave SWiY with brain damage from oxygen deprivation.

Life gets hard sometimes. Sometimes life starts hard & doesn't seem to get any better; often times these dark patches pass with time, patience & in some cases a bit of help, professional or otherwise. I don't know if SWiO_S has anyone to talk to (friends, family, therapist), but if he does I suggest contacting them as soon as possible. I also suggest heading to Accident & Emergency if these feelings carry on & taiking to a psychiatric nurse. If s/he suggests hospital admission, forget the horror stories, & don't assume that SWiYou'll be pumped full of meds. Hospital is also a place of safety for people in vulnerable positions such as SWiYourSelf, providing support in the roughest of times. It's not ideal, but then neither is what SWiO_S is thinking of doing.

Please think carefully about what SWiY is going to do next.

(p.s. anyone else replying may find that the title is too long. Click go advanced & shorten the title if necessary!)
