THC Detection in urine test

SWIM has to take a drug test before he can get a really good job. He's smoked marijuana almost daily for the last year or two. He has looked all over the internet for information on this subject but seems to find a lot of different information. He hasn't smoked for three weeks and has to take the test in three days. He plans on buying a home test kit before the test and if he fails will consider detox products, but would prefer not to. Many websites say the detection period varies on metabolism and such and SWIM thinks he has a fairly high metabolism. He is a 22 year old and pretty skinny (6'1" and 155 lbs). There seem to be a lot of knowledgeable people on this site, can anyone offer some insight as to if they think he has anything to worry about or offer up any suggestions? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The standard reply would be that the active ingredient THC is detectable in the urine after 48-72 hours in a one-off or occasional user or up to 6 weeks in a heavy user.

From thegooddrugguide.com : However, THC can be detected in a chronic user up to 12 weeks after use although the average is 25 -27 days.


I can't give you an answer, take a drugstest BEFORE you do the serious one when positive get an attestation that you are ill...or whatsowhever, don't let them officially do the test if you have the intentions to stop.

If swiy is just a once a day smoker, assuming his metabolism isn't very low he should be fine. The only people who typically test positive past 3 weeks are very heavy users, who smoke large amounts several times a day. Just one thing, make sure swiy really sits on his ass and eats a lot of food before the test, because swiy will want his body to be in fat storing, rather than fat burning mode while he's taking the test.

whats up everybody. im 19yrs old an i used to be a pot head than i got a dui an a mip an my life has been a living hell ever sense. the main reason i wanted to to join this community is to talk about pot. but the second reason is because i am freakin out a lil. i took one hit from a clogged zoom tube on a fri than i had a ua that next thursday. when i was in the bathroom i peed in the cup than put some liquis bleach in it than dipped it in the toilet to get some more color than filled it a lil with warm water from the sink, than when i was in my counselors office she left an i filled the cup some more with some water she had on the desk, o an i drank one of those detox drinks an ran for 35min the night b4. i am still freakin though because i got a lot to lose, my apartment my girl, my job... because if i pee dirty i get an automatic twenty days in the joint. im also woundering if they will pop you if they detect that you tampered with your sample. i need some advice to calm my nerves please anybody.

Go back to your post and press "edit", then use SWIM (someone who is not me) and then pay a visit at the forum rules and the moderators.

In the "edit" there is a white space where you can fill in your reason why you edited.

Newbies have no 'edit' option (which is insane really )
But there really isn't much to worry about in vaio's posts... if you like though you can report your own post, and we could report it for you and it'll get looked over and get edited/deleted.
