Iemma 'appalled' by Greens' drug proposal

Politocians the world over get those knees a jerking at the merest mention of drug policy reform. Seems like Australia is no different.

This from ABC News Online (Aus):
Iemma 'appalled' by Greens' drug proposal

The New South Wales Premier, Morris Iemma, says he is appalled by a proposal made by the Greens to legalise all drugs including ice, saying they are out of touch and it will never happen.
The Premier says it is hard to understand the thinking of the Greens, considering the horror and devastation the drug is causing.
"That's why we're setting up specialised services in our hospitals to deal with this," he said.
"It is just an absurd and ridiculous and disgusting policy."
Greens MP Lee Rhiannon says the party's health and social policy does call for the decriminalisation of drug use, but that it is linked with criminal penalties for the big dealers.
"The Green policy is clear the way to deal with the ice epidemic is to go after the big dealers," she said.
"Locking up individual users will not remove this deadly drug from our streets, nor will it reduce the alarming prevalence of ice use and dependency."

Re: Iemma 'appalled' by Greens' drug proposal (Aus)

Seems a little bit all over the place. It starts out with legalisation, but the Greens then claim to support decriminalisation. I can understand the Premiers reaction if approached for comment on straight out legalisation.
