Also AWM's 'The Edge of Infinity' aswell as their collaboration with Jim Cole, named 'Bislama'. Honest to god this music has to have been written for ketamine, I can not recommend these albums enough, of course headphones are mandatory. SWIM has had so many transcending experiences with these, and they seem to be quite a usefull catalyst to push the ketamine in a 'spiritual' direction (perhaps not the right word as it at times seems to be lacking any humanoid qualities), as SWIM has introduced ketamine to a fair amount of people that have had bulls eye first time experiences, only downside may be a bit of megalomania from being god fullon for at few moments lol. Headphones as nearly always adds a bit to musical experience but HIA uses binaural tecniques too that really mess with your brain frequencies and SWIM have those suspected for playing a role in his period of alien encounters lol though that thought may have been spawned by his rising paranoia at the time, but more about this when SWIM at some point finds the time to get his ketamine chronicles translated for the international crowd.

Thank you so much for this suggestion, i really enjoyed Higher Intelligence Society's albums...a mental trip!

My suggestion are obvious (i havbe 3 experiences with K till now ), two milestones of Ambient Music, both made by Richard David James aka Aphex Twin.
I'm speakign about Selected Ambient Works 85-92 and Selected Ambient Works II, both are masterpieces!

Re: Ketamusic

SWIM always used low tempo music, the same with salvia, but with K the playlist must be longer...
One CD he used to listen when he started K-holing was Nature Whispers: Lords of the Deep, a 60 minute song filled with sounds of whales, very soothing. Too bad somebody stole it...
Another one he liked very much for the same ocassions was Vangelis - Voices, but starting on track 2.
SWIM likes Infected Mushroom a lot, but listening to Classical Mushroom on K made him feel pain... weird. As if the pain was caused by the fast beats.
Low doses of K go well with every kind of music, and dancing can be fun, like a mix of 1/3 dancing, 1/3 tai-chi and 1/3 Down Syndrome.

Oh I'd overlooked this, but glad you liked it For some reason SWIM has never played any RDJ while on K but he could easily imagine his ambient works being suited for the experience.

If you like Higher Intelligence Agency, try Nothing by Bobby Bird (who is HIA) and Brian Duffy. It's just ambient noise from samplers, but very interesting if you are in the right mood. There's nothing quite like it, except perhaps Modulate 5.1, some visuals, with similar 'music.'

Re: Ketamusic

Allow happy hardcore, SWIM hate the ridiculous old-skool cheesy tunes. He's partial to UK hardcore though (unless that's what you guys mean), Hixxy, Gammer, Dougal, the pounding basslines with the euphoric synths and clean female vocals. Favourite mixes; Hardcore Heaven 2 (I think it's 2) Brisk CD, Kevin Energy CD is also amazing, not into freeform but that mix is next level. Bonkers 13 as well, the Dougal disk is just ridiculous.

Other than that there's always Hard House (not the really grimey ultra fast Glazby style), Lisa Pin-Up, Amber D, Whitby for a bit of bounce. Or on rare occasions hard trance, notably the Yoji Music For a Harder Generation CD which takes you on a Keta-journey.

Re: Ketamusic

For line doses SWIM used to put in some deep space music like Giles Reaves "Sea of Glass" or John Serrie "The Stargazer's Journey". These are huge ambient spaces that SWIM found tended to open up the deepest experiences.

Of course Ketamine alters hearing but SWIM can't imagine K without music... SWIM was always surprised by people complaining about high frequency attenuation. SWIMs experience this in certain instances but also K allows one to be drawn into music quite possible deeper than anything but perhaps high dose LSD. Bottom line is any alteration in perception gives an opportunity to perceive different aspects of a work of art that maybe where hidden otherwise.

cheerios!
Andrei

Re: Ketamusic

Swim would recommend Bonobo or Stenchman, if ur into dubstep. Dubstep is MADE for K!
Swim also liked the Converting Vegetarians album by Infected Mushroom when circling the edges of a K-hole.

Swim finds the tune 'Ketto' by Bonobo the most accurate musical representation of a K experience.

Re: Ketamusic

It'd have to be Aphex's Ambient Works 2.
Each track is a different soundscape which when under the influence transform themselves into different universes or states of mind.
Some light and fluffy, others deep and dark, but all perfect for exploring the different realms of your mind.

SWIM would like to add Memories of the Future by Kode 9 + The Spaceape to that list.

EDIT: Have you heard the Soundboy Punishments double album by Shackleton & Appleblim? Outstanding stuff, wicked acid-inspired artwork too.

A dark teal cat, who liked ket said that the only music she liked on during those strange journeys was minimalistic, ethnic music, such as drumming, chanting or digeridoo. Electronica was ok too, she advises, but the more minimal the better, she states.
