What is the typical dose of meth?

SWIM was born and raised in Minnesota, which had a thriving rave scene in the early-90s. Meth was very prevalent in the scene, and SWIM and his friends would usually each get a half when they went to parties. They would pour the entire half out into a sinlge rail, and snort the entire thing at once. None of them ever died or anything, but they would get high as hell and stay that way for hours and hours.

SWIM is now into his 30s and has only done meth one time since. He and his brother split a hald, and just did little bumps. The high was suffient and it lasted them a long time. SWIM could never imagine railing an entire half at one anymore. and can't beleive he sirvived those days.

Is this a typical does, or were those kids insane?

Swim prefers smoking meth as opposed to snorting it and as you use different methods the high is slightly different but typically a half will last swim high through the night and a good portion of the next day. It would probably last longer, but swim tends to hit it often.

As always it also depends on the quality which can also vary greatly.

wow, that's crazy that you have to be a silver member to edit your posts... I've never seen a forum with that rule before, and don't really understand the logic.

but, back on topic... a lot of people have read this thread, why won't anyonw respond. i'm assuming that most of you have used meth before, so why can't you take 30 seconds to tell us if you think a half gram rail is a lot? SWIM really wants know and keeps harrassing me!

Well to answer the question, yes, a half gram railed at one time is an insane dose for one who does not have a huge tolerance built up. That is depending on how pure the methamphetamine actually was. At any rate it is strongly suggested that one does not try that again.

HAHA! I KNOW! HALF A GRAM?? SNORTED??? (the word "insane" just cracked me up)


SWIY could always put it in a pill capsule and swallow it - I strongly recommend oral ingestion over snorting/smoking for SWIY's first few times using the stuff. It's a much more smooth and constant high, it lasts longer than the effects of snorting it (but snorting it induces a stronger high, just for a shorter period of time).

BUT a major drawback about swallowing it is that SWIY has to use more of it than the amount you would snort or smoke since only about half of the drug is absorbed into the bloodstream and the rest is absorbed by the kidney and excreted through urine,

10-20 mg insufflated (SWIM prefers this dose be split in half and taken 4-5 hours apart from eachother)

And BTW SWIM thinks smoking it is by far most conservative and strongest method but SWIM doesnt trust himself to smoke it.

Could the meth remembered from "back then" have been heavily cut with something? Or possibly have been something else entirely, e.g. Dexedrine + cuts? SWIM wonders if it was always purchased from the same dealer, which would have made this scenario much more likely.

SWIM doesn't know if it was cut with anything, but it was from various dealers...

swim found his aunt´s pervitne with 3mg/ pill -they were really tiny but swim manged to cut of a thrid and definately felt an effect, with 6mg he was numbe dfor good, for about 4 hours, but not really high, jst numb and felt stronger more self confident and had some nice, direct locomotor action to his muscles.
