Question on getting home from raves

Hey guys, SWIM has a question on anybody who goes to raves. SWIM has never been to a rave and would like to sometime but SWIM's friend tells me that the hardest part is to get home. Now that he's older, he does not want to risk it. How does anybody here get home after going to a rave?

But only if the hypothetical raver is stone cold sober & not otherwise chemically altered right?

Unless SWiY can guarantee straight-edging it, leave the car at home & get a taxi or walk if it's a nice morning, a nice walk & not too far. The randomness can be sometimes disconcerting, but usually fun A Certain Mouse tells me, but always better than running the risk of at best a DUI, at worst killing yerself or someone else.

Getting back from free parties if SWiY've have driven require a bit more planning if drugs are being thought about, & making sure that enough time has passed between last drink or drop & going home for relative straightness & preferably sleep to have occurred. Again, straight-edging it is best if driving is potentially involved - there is always the risk of a free-party getting busted & another venue having to be reached which will require being sober enough to drive to.

The treck of getting home is half the fun. Swip has had many morning of wondering around town from coffee house to party tree hiding from the sun as it rises.

Designated drivers are nice... but hard to keep one sober through a whole rave and probably afterparty.

Do NOT drive on drugs. Arrange transport well before going. If you are mature enough to decide to take a psychoactive chemical - you better be mature enough to arrange sober & grounded transportation. No further discussion.
