Japan Legality Questions

Can someone straighten me out on something I'm unclear on? I realise psilocybin-containing mushrooms are illegal in Japan as of 2002, but I'm not certain as to the legality of spore prints or syringes. Some things I've read seem to suggest that they they are legal (and that'd make sense, I guess, what with weed being illegal here and yet the seeds not, and openly sold). However, I don't have any concrete info on the matter. If someone were to order a spore syringe from the web (such as from any of a number of places in Holland, etc), would it be intercepted? Would they get into any sort of legal trouble if it was? It seems to be something that could be very discretely cultivated, but if obtaining the spores isn't going to be possible I guess there's no point wasting further effort considering the the proposition....

Also, am I correct in thinking that salvia is still legal until April? Are there any restrictions or such on importing it? (i.e., would it pose a problem for someone if they were to order a bottle of extract online?)

(And lastly, HBW seeds are fine both before and after April, right?)

Re: Japan Legality Questions

Hello swimmer and welcome to Japan. Swim would love to help you out in regards to this pressing issue. In regards to psilocybin spore prints and syringes there is no restrictions in place at the moment. Swim even knows that grow kits can be ordered and delivered to swiys door with no problems (see Tokyo Grow Pics thread for reference.. if swiy doesnt mind reading the madness that followed..LOL). Regarding the updated law with reference to Salvia and a host of other RC type substances. That law never passed the Diet so for no swiy and swim is safe. It was presented but never went all the way through for unknown reasons.
Depending on where swim lives though there maybe local restrictions (for example Methylone is illegal in Tokyo Metro area, however in Kanagawa prefecture no problemo. Swim is unsure about Osaka, but he hasnt heard anything either way.
Well, good luck to swiy and welcome to the site.
Swim hasnt been around much recently but he will be here much more often now.
Take care,
TXP

Are you absolutely certain that it didn't pass? I went to more than ten stores spread over Osaka and Kobe, and all of them told me they didn't have Salvia because it becomes illegal in April. They'd sold out and hadn't bothered to re-stock (I guess to not get potentially stuck with unsellable inventory). Also, I didn't see a single one of the other items on that prospective ban list on shelves anywhere either, and when I asked for a few specifically got the same story as with Salvia.

So now I'm confused.

Re: Japan Legality Questions

hmmmm.... Swim will check his sources here in Tokyo and find out the skinny. He will then let swiy know. Swim was under the impression it hadnt passed. Maybe it was an Osaka ordinance?

Re: Japan Legality Questions

So, are you still seeing items from the banlist on shelves in Tokyo head shops?

Re: Japan Legality Questions

Any new on this?

SWIM is particulary interested in confirming that spores/spawn bags ordered from abroad are legal.

Also, if it's all still legal, are any Japan-based internet suppliers?
