Does SWIM have a big tolerance?

So SWIM has ADHD and he just started taking Concerta again (after many years) back in December. Since then SWIM has been taking it pretty much every day for school cause he zones out without it.

Anyway recently SWIM decided he was bored and wanted a bit of a high, but he soon discovered that it took a lot to even feel anything. His concerta is 54mg and he can take like 3 (162mg) and barely feel anything! SWIM also has 10mg ritalin for weekend studies and for after the concerta wears off at the end of the day. Is it just SWIM, or does he have a large tolerance for this stuff? Is it a bad idea to take so many 54mg Concerta? Oh, and SWIM really doesnt like the idea of snorting his 10mg ritalin pills, he thinks it just seems... not... right... (but somehow taking lots of concerta to get high is??)

Also how long does it take for the tolerance to go away? is like 9 days long enough? cause SWIM MUST take it for school or he is stupid...

Re: Does SWIM have a big tolerance?

concerta is the extended release isnt it? SWIM would think that taking a bunch of the ritalins would be much better since they are instant release (right?) SWIM taked adderall and doesnt know much about ritalin so this is just what seems to be logical to SWIM.

Re: Does SWIM have a big tolerance?

Concentra is a time release form of methylphenidate. SWIY will get a much better effect from crushing the tablet and then eating it.

Keep in mind that some of the drug is contained in the outer coating. (As an instant release mechanism.) One may wish to suck the coating off before crushing and ingesting the contents.

Also, insufflation (snorting) of the rit will work MUCH better, no matter which form of it you do (Time release or instant release.)

Re: Does SWIM have a big tolerance?

SWIM was also wondering if it is a bad idea to take higher (than perscribed) doses of ritalin when he is also on Imipramine for his terrible horrible extremely painful migraines that he gets (which he actually has one now, but he cant feel anything thanks to his friend hydrocodone!) SWIM takes 75mg of imipramine every NIGHT, so is it still a bad idea to take enough ritalin to get high the next morning?
