Vicodin causing a cocaine positive?

Note: Hair tests go back as long as "6 months with 11" hair."

The events leading up to the hair test:
It was a Firday (4/7/06) when my friend was hobbling (he had just broken my leg a month before) into the "Higher Power's" and accused of possesion of MDMA. He was searched afterwards swim was then put on close watch. After being harassed over 4 times they finally called his parents and said "He was in possession of MDMA" knowing good and well he was not he had every right to be pissed.

The Test:
He was then taken to a treatment center where they cut off as he put it "half of my fucking hair." He was still being perscribed the Vicodin and had used not even a gram of cocaine three months before, and smoked collectively a pound of quality Marijuana. Three weeks later the results were in and he was positive for cocaine. He was livid. Not at just the cocaine positive, but at the fact that nothing else showed up no opiates (Vicodin) or Marijuana.

The Question:
He then called the treatment center and asked exactly how much cocain would it take to show up in the test, they responded with "Well over two grams." He then remembered he was being perscribed Vicodin and wondered that if in excess it could trigger a cocaine positive.

Though it was almost a year ago the question still lingers in his head.

Vicodin wouldn't cause a positive for cocain. Lidocain may or other medical anethstetics that may have been used when swiy broke his leg. But if the mj and vicodin didn't show up; perhaps swiy's results were mixed up with somebody elses? This DOES happen. Damand a retest.
