Would grapefruit juice make hydrocodone/alcohol combination more dangerous?

SWIM was curious if drinking grapefruit juice in order to potentiate hydrocodone would make alcohol more dangerous. Apap and alcohol are both metabolized by the liver so he was worried that the inhibition could cause some kind of toxicity issue. He wasn't considering heaving drinking maybe just a beer or two.

alcohol and apap is a bad combination for your liver, can cause lots of damage, alcohol and opiates is bad because it can cause harmful depression of your breathing. taking something to make the hydro stronger will only make the addition of alcohol more risky, and it may even possibly cause greater apap/alcohol integration and damage.

Agreed. If swiy choses to have a couple drinks to increase the hydrocodone effects, please make sure to do a CWE to get rid of the APAP first. It's quick, less then 10 minuts, and easy to do... and your liver will appreciate it.

Yeah SWIM has used CWE in the past. He decided not to do it last night and things went fine. Got a bit nauseous a couple hours into it but he lied down and felt much better.
