CA, USA, med MJ Q's

SWIM was wondering about the situation in CA:

1. Someone claimed that there's about 1/3 as many MJ sites in SF as Starbucks. True? And are they all "med MJ" sites that require a scrip?

2. So, it's legal statewide but illegal federally. What is required to buy here? Scrip? Residency? what else?

3. Is there any way for an out-of-stater to access this bud?

4. Noticed in "prices" that CA isn't appreciably lower than anywhere else. This defies economics: less risk should require less reward. Has having to compete with "legal" MJ dried up the illegal supply?
