The Bonding Drug
SWIM previously posted his first Ecstacy experience but thought he would share his 2nd one too(occured 4days ago...) just to further more prove how effective the beneficial effects of Ecstacy can have... SWIM doesnt understand why Ecstacy is not used more for psychotherappy, well he does because why would pharmatical companies comprise years and incredible profits on anti depressants... but that's another subject!
SWIM convinced all his close friends to do E with him after what he had experienced. SWIM showed them many documentaries and valid information from Erowid and Drugs Forum to reassure them about it and they would be ready for the experience. SWIM also had in mind that one of his friends, who he will name D, would open up and SWIM knows that D has a lot of stuff on his heart that needs to get out. There is no need to get into all the details of the experience, but SWIM and his friends ended up sitting together for 6hours and just talk. Everyone opened up about their lives but more specifically D, it was great to see him show us trust and talk so freely about his issues, the fact that he's never known his dad and that he recently learned that he died. SWIM told D's mom 2weeks ago that he thought D was taking it a lot harder then he showed and she didnt agree with him. It was good to see D be human and not always show this strong image. SWIM loves Ecstacy and his friends do too and we all realize how amazing it is and how we can grow to be better persons by learning from it. It has so much offer to teach us and it is a great bonding experience between us because we all tell each other how much we all mean to all of us. Life is beautiful and E makes us see it... I am just rambling but it can be just the thing that many people need to realize all that life has to offer and has given us already. That is all! |

Re: The Bonding Drug
It is exactly the wiping of fear and subsequent opening up that made MDMA (and others of the family) so very popular with psychotherapists before it was placed into Schedule I in '86.
It could take years - even decades - for a patient to freely express (and feel) the material they had bottled-up inside. This release invokes a catharsis of the psyche. A wiping the slate clean if you will. One can forgive themself for past events and view their causality in a detached yet highly meaninful way. It was for this effect that A. Shulgin and others refered to MDMA as being "penicillin for the soul." Advice: Have SWIM maintain contact with "D" to gently re-inforce the things said and learned. This shows that the impact was a real phenomena - not like a night on the town getting drunk and saying stupid things people later regret. You can see the benefit of this substance to people coming back from a war with visions of death and killing embedded in their minds. Last edited by Nagognog2; 28-02-2007 at 08:50. |

SWIM speaks very highly of MDMA to others because many only hear the bad publicity that is given to E through the media. Such amazing views on life and feeling so good for the first time in how ever long. For SWIM, Ecstacy finally released all the inner demons and all the anger that was burried deep in his heart and he's felt so much better since, he is a new person and sees life beautifully and with a hopeful perspective! SWIM looks forward to the next experiences we will have because there is still much searching to do and especially for D, but progress is on the way and they will get there together as individuals, friends and as a brotherhood! PS: SWIM rambles a lot

Re: The Bonding Drug
I understand and accpet E\'s ability to connect and knock down mental barriers, but what makes you sure ecstatic epiphanies are any more real then drunken one\'s? I know some of it is, E does bring some honest feelings to the surface, but I think it brings some artificial one\'s up too. The same as alcohol really, in both cases. SWIM remembers one time rolling, telling some guy how cool a guy he is, and he really enjoys hanging out. It was fully believed at the time, but in reality, SWIM can\'t stand the guys presence.I accept E is a little more real then alcohol, but not infallibly so.

Re: The Bonding Drug
Thats why SWIY's do it in a circle of close friends, and that is not just with E but with any drug. If you experiment with the people that you love, that is where you will get the true potential of the drug.
SWIM doesnt drink because he sees no benefit in it and all his friends know that

Re: The Bonding Drug
Swim is very glad that swiy had 2 great experiences with MDMA. Its good to see people who appreciate MDMA and who dont just use it to get fucked out of their minds for a few hours. Swims only advise would be to keep swiy and his friends use of X to rare special occasions.....this will help preserve the magic of the experience. Swim knows it may not seem this way now but X gets quite predictable and loses its beauty if it is used too often. All the best to swiy and his friends and swim hopes they have excellent rolls in the future.

Re: The Bonding Drug
For use as a psychotherapeutic tool, MDMA was usually employed no more than twice. Once to show what's there and possible. And again to reinforce this being real and possible.

Re: The Bonding Drug
although SWIM has taken ecstasy many times with people he barely knows and loved it, by far SWIMs best experiences on ecstasy were those with his closest friends, it is an incredible bonding experience, he learnt so much about some of his friends and had more relaxed and open discussions than ever before, SWIM is sure that MDMA is good for relationships.
alcohol can definately be a bonding experience as well, but it doesnt seem as mind blowing or as profound as MDMA. maybe MDMA is more amazing because the government tell us not to do it. you would feel like you know a secret most people don't. In the future SWIM is going to try as much as possible to save the drug for occasions like these where he can get the most out of it, and not take it so casually any more... he just wishes he could take E with his parents... that would be the ultimate bonding experience! |

Re: The Bonding Drug
Swim and his friend discussed this one day and came the conclusion that it would be a huge huge huge cringe. The next day would be so fucking awkward. lol. But swim does understand where swiy is coming from. Swim understands that plenty of people out there have a sort of relationship with their parents where if they did take MDMA together it would be a deep learning experience....sharing that empathy with the very people who created you....! but this would probably not be the case for swim .lol. Swim hopes one day he might get to have a spliff with his mother but even that seems very unlikely.

Re: The Bonding Drug
Regards dnb:
MDMA, back before it was thrown in the prison trashcan by the DEA, was used with married couple that were undergoing counciling for various problems with their relationships. Husband was icy and didn't talk to wife. Wife was icy and didn't talk to husband. Etc. The results regards establishing communications were nothing short of fantastic. And the Feds threw it out. Alcohol is a different animal completely regards it's "bonding" characteristics. It seems to allow one to bond on a level of shared stupidity: "Your as fucked-up as I am! Brother <slobber>! I love you!" Quite a bit less cerebral - in my opinion. |

MDMA has tremendous potential, well not even potential because we know for a fact that it has proven to be effective!!! The bonding experience on MDMA is mainly emphasized on love for themselves and the people they love, that we're still together despite all the crap that has happened, yet we are still alive and we are still going strong but all the materiaslic things dissapear, (ever touched money on Ecstacy? SWIM did, he threw it out the window!). For SWIM, the overwhelming sense of well being and being at peace with the world and with god was what he needed to truly feel as if life is beautiful because it is despite everything. It really can make one see what is real. As for alcohol, well lets see how one feels the next day. Last edited by The Doors; 01-03-2007 at 17:11. |

Re: The Bonding Drug
Nagonog; I was wondering if you or SWIY were in position to give SWIM advice on how he could furthermore help his friend asides from talking to him about it and his feelings? He is going to wait a little till he does E because SWIM wont let him though nothing can stop him from gettng it on his own but he just wants to make sure that his friend understood what happened to him that night before he does it again, hence why he is asking what he can do before that to try and help out?

Re: The Bonding Drug
SWIM has never understood the mindset behind having things like alcohol and cigarettes legal, but then taking substances like THC, MDMA, LSD, etc. and black listing them from society.
It doesn't matter what the government tells you, eventually SOMEONE is going to find out the truth, or at least a different point of view, and then you get 'underground' marketing. SWIM thinks that if all these profitable and beneficial substances were legalized and regulated (such as cigarettes and Alcohol are) then the entire world would be a little more peaceful, and at least in their respective countries, there would be less turmoil over "evil drugs" "Drugs are bad, mmkay?" |
