SWIM wants to know MJ etiquette

SWIM has been a boozer all his life, while his toking days consisted of 13-18 and infrequently since then (i.e. only when he can mooch, 'cause he dosen't wanna risk the legal consequences of buying).

Swim recently found a semi-private poker game (can't go into more detail 'cause that's arguably illegal, too) and towards the end they asked a bunch of strange questions until he discerned that they wanted to burn one. SWIM got in on the action, and enjoyed it, but doesn't feel comfortable playing for cash while baked (either his tolerance is NADA or the anti drug crowd has a point about how pot's gotten stronger). Because of that, he'd like to take some to enjoy at his lesiure.

This is where the problem lies: for non-US citizens, the anti-drug fervor here is so severe that even dedicated tokers take exception to becoming dealers. Here's SWIM's ideas about how to slowly work into the supply chain:

1. SWIM's awaiting an internet shipment of Absinthe. SWIM figures he'll take some to the game and offer it around. After a few weeks or so, hopefully a desire to reciprocate will occur and and offer to make an introduction will be made w/o much pressure at all.

2. SWIM has the "advantage" of having a minor, yet visable, handicap that would instantly disqualify him from service in any P.D. (No more details advisable here). Can this be played to an advantage?
