i don't see why ppl bag on inhalants, hey most drugs aren't healthy either...

anyway, i honestly think duster and nitrous experiences are overrated when ppl say "omg i was like floating through SPACE man!!!" it's not a lot more than wah wah wah and a little patterning if you do too much. in conjunction with other drugs (any other drug) they get a LOT more fun ^_^

bodhisattva- nitrous is not in duster

Hacnslash- yes most drugs aren't exactly healthy for u but inhalants are down right horrible for you....theres a huge gap when u look at the health effects of inhalants and lets say weed

and damn you people nitrous is a dissociative not an inhalant

True, Curtains...

So freon is actually the trade name given to a whole class of chemicals
known as chlorofluorocarbons (used in refrigerators mostly). I think
tetrafluoroethane is the chemical most commonly found in those cleaning
dusters. The nice thing about freon is that the really bad side effects
of freon inhalation occur right after the initial exposure, meaning
that if you aren't yet fucked up you're probably going to be ok (freon
is not a carcinogen, mutagen, or teratogen and it does not damage the
liver). Still, if you have any history of heart problems you should
maybe stay clear of it for it can cause cardiac arrhythmia which
wouldn't be fun. If you still want to do it make sure never to shake the container or turn it upside down</span> (the liquid will cause frostbite so you can probably guess you don't really want that occurring in your lungs).

As for nitrous oxide...well...wow. Nitrous oxide is used in many
different aspects of life. If you are a drag racer an N2O tank adds a
nice boost of torque to your car, if you use rediwhip or another canned
whip cream you've already seen N2O used to pressurize, and if you've
ever had surgery at the dentists office you've experienced its
anesthetic properties...

Well its a touch costly (usually sells in packs of 24 for about $20)
and its initial effects don't last very long (there is a slight relaxed
feeling you have afterwards), but say two whipits will put you in a
happy place for about a minute, of course three is</span> better...five is better still, but start lower and then go up. Nitrous is very sweet tasting try not to do too much</span>.
Make sure you get a nice cracker (metal. Plastic ones will break
quickly) and you have a nice high capacity balloon (any head shop that
sells whipits will most likely have balloons and crackers). You need
the balloon because, similar to freon, N2O is very</span>
cold after it is released (don't want to freeze your lungs). The only
problems with N2O are oxygen depravation and vitamin depletion so take
your vitamins (N2O depletes your folic acid and vitamin B12) and make
sure to breathe

oh one more thing that is best to say just for safety's sake...

The racing grade has hydrogen sulfide in it as well as nitrous which
can be removed if bubbled in a basic solution (like say...baking soda),
but do some research before you attempt that one....

No. Just, no.

These inhalants are the crappiest and most stupidest thing you can do.

To back up my claims here are some quotes from erowid:
Quote:
Computer duster is not Oxygen or Nitrous oxide. It is usually a fluorenated low weight hydrocarbon, such as tetrafluorethane, chlorodiflouromethane or another similar gas. What they're looking for is a material which is a liquid when pressurized (at room temperature) but which is a gas when not pressurized. Because it is not intended for human consumption, there is no consistency to what is used by different companies, as long as the gas pressurizes in a cannister well enough to create the blowing effect that the product is sold for.

Just as with nitrous/"whippets", if you breathe something like computer duster straight, you are both depriving yourself of oxygen and exposing yourself to the chemical. This can increase the high, but also greatly increases the risk of physical damage. While (medical grade) nitrous has been tested and approved for use in humans, the components in computer duster have not, and especially not for repetitive use. Both research and Anecdotal evidence suggest that repetitive use can cause brain and other neurological damage.
Quote:
[Erowid Warning: Our understanding of the literature is that there is no such thing as safe use of volatile solvents, aerosols and other street inhalants : their psychoactive effects are inseparable from nerve and organ damage. We have chosen to include these reports to help document the real world use of inhalants, but their inclusion is not intended to imply that they are anything but dangerous.]

ewwww, you mean youwant to huff Air Duster. oh man come on, at least get a cracker and some whip its.

but i guess if you want to... buy a can of duster or whatever, and on the end will be a little nozzle. close your mouth directly over the nozzle, press the trigger, and inhale and be prepared for your entire concept of reality to change... but only for 4 seconds!

oh yea and i hope you don't asphyxiate and die. good luck.

If you must do these kinds of "drugs" only do it a few times as they are very toxic. I can understand to some degree however interest in these as someof the trip reports on them are kind of interesting.

Personally I can't understand why anyone would want to inhale
trifluroethane to get high when they can go buy a can of whipped cream
(which is a fraction of the cost of a can of air duster) and get high
off of nitrous oxide, a chemical safe enough to be used regularly by
dentists.

I'm not even going to entertain any of your questions, i'm just going to say DONT DO IT STUPID! and leave it at that

chlorofluorocarbons are potentially irritants and may even cause cancer
(SPECULATION based on the proven carcinogenic activity of
carbon tetrachloride and chloroform). nitrous will provide you with a
much safer and enjoyable experience.

i never used either one but swim abused the can a few times, he said it
did not bring him anywhere near the mind altering level of any of the
other inhalants he experimented with. he did say that the combination
of MDMA and dustoff was incredibly euphoric but it left him very stupid
and vunerable for the short period of time that he was under the
influence of the compressed gas. he was talking and saying things that
he did not recall just moments later as he came back from the influence
of the gas. definitely not something to do with people you cannot
trust. perhaps it should not be done at all
