How to get the girl.

Alrighty. 6 months ago I seperated from wife who I had been with for 8 years. A friend / co-worker of mine who I have always had a crush on was also married to a man who she had been with for 16 years. The key word here.. was.

Fast forward: she and her husband (barring temporary unavoidable living situation) have parted ways as well. I have been talking with her a lot on the phone at night as we obviously have a lot to talk about, coming out of long term relationships. She knows she has a place here if she ever needs, but now the hard part.

Put yourself in this situation. What would you do to let her know that you would REALLY enjoy her company without being too obvious, or possibly ruining chances too early? And come at it from the perspective that you have absolutely no idea how she feels towards you. Anything guys/gals... there's a lot of clever people here, some too clever for their own good, so maybe some of that creativity could be spent trying to land me a real gem.

SWIM's in a similar(ish) situation right now in regards to there being someone he really likes but isn't sure how she feels about him. It's been toying with his mind all week. He's decided to sit back and let time sort it out. If she's into SWIY, she'll show it eventually, possibly out of nowhere. I guess the best thing to do is to continue to enjoy her company and see what happens. Don't be too forceful or anything like that, just act comfortable around her. If it's meant to happen, it probably will happen.

Yah... *sigh* there is where it gets tough. No doubt thats the best way to go about it, but there's one major downfall to playing the waiting game. Someone else could possibly sweep her off her feet. Her husband was revered as quite the lucky chap, and word of her situation will spread very quickly through the local gossip shops.

SWIM has similar fears but doesn't want to seem forceful and rush into a situation he might later regret. Talking to her with worries like that on your mind will only scramble your thoughts and may reflect badly on you. Make your presence felt, be honest and go with your instincts. Pretentiousness never works in these scenarios. Best of luck with it anyway mate.

Well.. the chance came up and I snatched 'er GOOD!


We have both been extremely busy. She is about to lose it with the ever increasing popularity of our catering company. I am only able to be there when school / studying allows so she's got to handle it all herself. The ordering, staffing, then training new staff, blah blah etc.. (which is normally all my field).

So I have been handed a gift from the gods. Albeit not a very generous one, however I can make much out of it.

This coming Sunday our shop is closed (we never close Sunday). So I took it upon myself to book us a day at the spa. I need my mop cut anyways and I could definetly use a little pampering. And so could she. I'm gonna let her know tomorrow. I'll let ya'll know how it goes

Thanks for all the support. I'm takin 'er slow but not too slow. Don't wanna start going in reverse. Anyways I worked the offer into a conversation perfectly; as not to let any intentions blatently come forth. She very gladly accepted the offer, there wasn't much doubt she would, but It was still a relief. Now she has till tomorrow afternoon to pick a package.

Fast forward to the OH MY GOODNESS! Coincidence by definition:

This absolutely floored me. My mother is in shock too. We are anticipating something big happening when all 4 of us meet. We got to talking on the phone how this all came about; so I filled her in on my new love interest, and it ends up my mothers boyfriend's dad decided to book them a romantic sorta thing too.

yes and when one has done too many drugs to remember who that self is (ironically enough all in a quest to find oneself), yet cannot stop for long enough to find out, then trying to figure out what side to show can be confusing to say the least.

The whole "drugs are fucking up my personality" thing is over-hyped. Being yourself, whatever self that may be (drug-user or not), is indeed the best way to go about it. Unless of course you get a big net, capture her and take her away.

being yourself the "drug user" is indeed yourself I guess... then there becomes the option to show different sides of yourself, so don;t you always have a choice of what to show... nobody goes into situations like this without overthinking. And those who do have it made.
