Opinions - Man-Made Objects Displeasing While on Mushrooms

ok, so SWIM has tripped quite a few times. and noticibly more than anything else, SWIM has noted that ANYTHING man made, IE Cars, Radio's, Lights, etc. seem oddly disgusting. Like looking at a Shopping cart while tripping in a field of grass, or something along those lines. Is it like realizing in the trip that most of these things we make are useless in more or less words.. SWIM just can't figure it out. anyways. that was my odd blurb of the day.

SWIM's noticed this too... and has come to the personal conclusion that
these feelings result from awareness of the negative side effects of
technological advancement. We've built some pretty dangerous toys for
ourselves. And look what is happening to the environment. SWIM
suspects that our own advancements will ultimately lead to our
destruction.

At least that's SWIM's $0.02.

SWIM finds it odd that these feelings become much stronger and more apparent while shroomin. SWIM Read that post about the study they did with psilocybin in a controlled environment. and about how some of the people had a *bad* trip. Getting feelings of anxiety, and parranoia. Well, if these feelings come out while shroomin (about technology etc) then how was the test proving anything about adverse effects of shroomin? Were they in a classroom type setting? Or outside?. if they were inside doing this test, i can easily see how they would get anxiety, and or parranoia!! You know there is a guy behind the 1 way glass window! That can't be an easy thing to supress while shroomin SWIM would think!

When SWIM is shroomin and there are other people around that are not shroomin, it makes SWIM very aware that people see him as acting extremely strange. and that they are not at all in the same mindset as SWIM. This brings up things like anxiety, feelings of being judged, Parranoia, etc.

anyone else think about those things?

Yeah lab testing psychodelics must be an experience, can't imagine anything worse than a bunch of stiffs wearing white overalls and holding clipboards, would be akin to an alien abduction or something. As for the whole seeing manmade things as disgusting, well this may be for several reasons. Maybe you just have a negative view of man made items in general, you'd prefer it if we were all cavemen again, this may not even be implicit, just a subconscious thing that comes up in normal life from time to time. Also manmade objects are very harsh, in terms of lines angles and so on, whereas natural items tend to flow and curve and alter to changes in the environment such as whether, time of year etc. SWIM's personal experience of mushrooms isn't that great, but the visuals SWIM had tended to flow, and things bled together, perhaps this 'bleeding' is easier to take when things aren't as ridgid. Natural things are just more beautiful aswell, what self respecting trip report doesn't have a vivid description of a tree in it!

Swim thinks thats its because swim has taken a mushroom and in swims heart he knows that the said mushroom is mother natures home grown. Swim finds his lake the best place to trip by far, man made stuff throws swim and pulls his out of trips very easily.

Not everithing human has done looks evil. Crrossing an evenue can be hell of an experience, but remember man can do a lot more things. Buddish gardens, gardens in general, mistic locations like Cuzco or Stonhedge, Michellangelo´s sculpture, are man-made too.
Man is cappable of such awfull things as creating tools to kill and use them even against their own species. But also has made such beautifull things... and most of all... isn´t human eye who tells (so makes) beautifullness?
SWIM agrees with everybodys feelings about contemporary stuff, on shrooms, cacti, lsd and even coke. SWIM thnks getting aware of it can hel us decide our paths in life.
So stay away from malls, and spend your trip with your dog in the woods!

SWIM doesn't find that *everything* man-made is aesthetically displeasing while under the influence. SWIM has noticed that creations with ergonomic attributes tend to be more pleasing to the eye. But, it's important for SWIM to note that some things in nature, too, are aesthetically displeasing. SWIM thinks that perhaps SWIY feels all man-made objects are more aesthetically displeasing than natural objects during trips because s/he may be surrounded by many more man-made objects during their inebriation, as opposeed to a mostly natural environment.

SWIM doesn't find any of his/her experiences at all unusual; it's not uncommon for SWIM to look at things while sober and think, "Good deities, look at how silly that bugger looks!"

yeah looking at man made art under the influence is realy disturbing a horrible experience nah i know what swiy refers too but one can embrace it too ,, a couple of years back swim was tripping in a harbor area with smoke plumes ,petrochemical factories and a like and it realy blew swims mind away, anyway dont fear technology because of this ,, the reason the world is today as it is is not the technology but the monkeys oil fuled kapitalism , it is just growing out of its infants shoes and growing in to puberty and self realisation as a whole ,remember most things we made are sort of a result of creativity even the more evil looking ones hehe. it will be the only saviour we have if the populations keep soaring .bring on the matriix hehe

I know exactly what you mean.It seems different with acid,mushies seem to "prefer" natural stuff in SWIM's experience.Some people will say "gaia",but maybe it has also got something to do with fractals in nature too,or the subconscious fact that man made stuff pollutes and nature doesn't.Maybe.
