Opinions - Pregablin & Benzodiazepines Comparisons

diagnosed GAD for quite awhile now. i got off all meds and was doing fine without them, but life changes, and so comes chaos. anyway, latest doctor visit, i got him to put me on what I wanted for a change. pregablin 50mg X 3. and alprazolam 1mg X 2.

i have vast experience with at least 7-8 different benzos, but i'd like to know more about pregablin. how does it compare to gabapentin, and does it mix well with alprazolam or clonazepam. anything go better with it then benzos? i've tried gabapentin & opium which was a great high but i couldn't see much of a synergy there, except more pain relief.

SWIF assumes your not talking about yourself and actually talking about SWIY as talking about yourself and drug use would be illegal.

Pregablin is a more effective version of gabapentin, its the updated drug, it is more effective and has less side effects but essentially it's effects are the same.

If you found that gabapentin worked well with benzodiazepines you'll probably find pregabalin does too.

SWIF has never personally tried that combination but please if SWIY does write up an experience.

Pregabalin (Lyrica) is also discussed in numerous other threads about sleep, comedowns etc.

Mixing downers may have additive sedative effects and cause respiratory depression, therefore cannot be recomended.

swim just look pregabalin and lorazepam last night and swim was really stone and for som reason hallucinating

Just SWIM's opinions here, but (A) Pregabalin is not much better than gabapentin, basically it just takes a good deal less drug per dose due to much better bioavailability. (B) SWIM particularly likes pregabalin as a comedown aid from stimulants (sometimes mixed with Lunesta or Ambien), it has this peculiar relaxing quality *while tweaking* that very few other things have. When not tweaking, SWIM feels it's fairly awful stuff. Take a bit too much and it's easy to start walking into walls trying to navigate the house.

YMMV on enjoyment factors. SWIM has definitely found it *useful* for several things (e.g. takes the edge of stimulants, helps with opiate or kratom withdrawal) but not very recreational. It should mix OK with Xanax or clonazepam, i.e. probably not harmful but not necessarily recreational either.
