Should I be on my way to the hospital?
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. The main reason for joining was for this one question, but i'll definatly be visiting regardless. Anyway! Oxycontin. I've been doing oxy for a few months now. I've gained a pretty big tolerance, but last night, I took 320 mgs. I snorted a bunch and took a bunch orally. Anyway, i was feeling it to say the least...but i started feeling really odd, so like the idiot that i am, i think, i'l sleep it off. i woke up at 9:30 (after going to bed at 6) and when i woke up i was still feeling it very badly, i've randomly passed out a few times for a few minutes at a time, i puked a few times, and im really having a hard time talking and doing some simple tasks. I searched the internet looking for like an LD50 of oxycontin or something. I couldn't find anything about leathal doses and I understand that it has a good bit to do with tolerance, but just because i'm alive doesn't necessarily mean i'm not word about something happening to me. so therein lies the question. Is there a LD50 for oxycontin? Should I possibly go to a hospital or something? Any extra advice? I'm just worried about myself. Sorry if this is kind of long and sorry if you are reading this thinking "why'd i waste my time on this retard?" But if you can help, i'd love whatever i could get. Thanks a ton |

Re: Should I be on my way to the hospital?
It was a bad decision, but I'm not here to lecture. I would at least tell someone who is close to swiy to monitor his breathing, and make sure he was ok. If he feels the need to go to the hospital then go, but oxycodone does not stay in your system for very long. It might be a hang over, or you may have caused some serious damage. I would recomend swiy tries to taper off opiates from now on though.

Re: Should I be on my way to the hospital?
Before proceeding to post in these forums, you MUST first familiarize yourself with the rules here. Pay close attention to the rules regarding self-incrimination and learn to use SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me) or equivalent. Proceeding without abiding by our rules can and will get you banned.
The rules can be found here: http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/a...t.php?f=43&a=1 Thank you & Welcome. Now back on topic, first of all, LD50's are almost always for animals, they're the lethal dose in 50% of the test subjects which are ofcourse always lab animals (no pun intended) If one's tolerance rises than the LD50 will rise as well, so no useful info about that can be found on the internet that's probaply valueable to SWIY. SWIY's health should never be risked, and if SWIY's health is at risk than he/she should visit a doctor, or in serious cases a hospital. IIRC all the natural and semi-synthetic opiates are only acutely toxic in high doses, not chronically toxic, which means that if SWIY takes a high dose of it SWIY will only have negative effects for as long as the drug works or for the time of it's half life, SWIY won't have done permanent damage. |
