569 pounds of marijuana found in truck

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- State troopers in Colorado say they found 569 pounds of marijuana in the back of a pickup truck when they pulled the driver over for a traffic violation.

A trooper saw Arnoldo Escalante-Guiterrez's pickup drifting onto the shoulder on Interstate 70 near Grand Junction, the Denver Post reported. The officers asked for permission to search the vehicle when they smelled marijuana.

Bundles of marijuana were concealed in the bed of the truck by a pop-up lid. A drug-sniffing dog detected the presence of something in the truck.

State police said the marijuana has a street value of $1,000 a pound.
Master Trooper Ron Watkins said Escalante-Guiterrez was charged as a "special offender" because of the amount of drugs discovered

Anyways you're right in a sense, a decrease in supply will raise the equilibrium price, but it will also decrease the equilibrium quantity. This counts for both the price SWIY pays and the price SWIY sells for, and the quantity also refers to both the quantity demanded by SWIY and the quantity demanded by SWIY's customers. So in essence if the decrease in supply is going to affect SWIY's supplier (which would be a fair assumption given the scenario you've presented) it means a higher equilibrium price and quantity for SWIY when he goes to purchase his inventory. If that happens, then SWIY would have to change his price and supply in order to remain in equilibrium. Basically if this change in supply decreases the quantity demanded at every price level (which is what an inward shift in the supply curve would be), and this happens to someone above SWIY in the food chain, he will be paying more for less as well.

Shwag can be good at parties if SWIY is the only one with weed. Then you can share with everyone, and most people who smoke won't even notice the difference once you get a few drinks in them.

swim has this cat who says that low quality mexican stuff is a totally different feeling then the higher grade herb. Im sure most people will agree that the lower grade pot has its value. Swim enjoys music in a more enjoyable way when on schwag comapared to chronic. Also it has its value when binges of hard drugs such as speed, yuck or alcohol leave swim economicaly unable to purchase higher grade pot. The constant smoking allows a very enjoyable society of the smoking circle to exist. This cirle is dependent on the pot and the pot is dependent on the circle. Swim has this cat who use to live near grand junction and its all good pot.

SWIM agrees, having lower grade pot or shwag at parties can be pretty convenient. Sure the quality isnt as good, but the amount you can get for the price is pretty considerable and most people who do not smoke pot on a regular basis won't even notice a thing.
