Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

My Marmoset potentiates zolpidem (10 mg) with .25 mg alprazolam, plus two 10 mg bioperine tablets, all washed down with 6 oz. grapefruit juice. Adding a couple ibuprofen or naprosin will help ameliorate any "depression"-type hangover.

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

Be careful with both ibuprofen and, especially, Naprosin. Both of these can wreak havoc on the stomach - leading to ulcers and other unwanted medical problems. Best taken on a stomach with food and/or milk.

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

I have had nearly fifty years experience with drugs both licit and illicit. The most dangerous drugs by far are the downers because of the potentiating effect. Heath Ledger, in a desperate attempt to find sleep, combined oxycodone, hydrocodone, alprazolam, temazopam and doxylamine. He obviously got himself woozy and then decided to take more to get to sleep. Tragic. NSAIDS are tough on the stomach and must be taken with food. Zolpidem is by no means a totally safe drug and it too can kill if taken in sufficient quantity. Anyone who combines benzodiazepines and some of the "new safe, non-habit-forming" drugs like Ambien, better take very small amounts and then only if necessary. Any sleep-inducing drug will rob the body of its ability to find normal sleep. Getting off Ambien can be tough and take months. I submitted a post only because I feel one can combine very small doses of two different "downers" for purposes of economics. My physician knows of what I do.

Wink Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

The first times my pig took 10mg and the feeling was similar to smoking weed. It told me that it was euphoric and very interested in all colours and noises. For example there where shadows on the wall which looked like people walking trough the room. Sometimes it looked like lightening in the room, which was really weird.
Another thing which my pig told me was that it was very creative and wanted to paint or writing when the first effect was over. The next day it could'nt remember anything, but this wasn't bad at all, because the things it remembered were worth to try again and again.
After a while my pig decided to take a higher dose of Zolpidem, because the effect wasn't the same as at the beginning. So it took doses about 30-50mg. This was really freaky because my pig 'travelled trough other worlds' but can't remember much of this.
Another weird experience was a combination of Zolpidem and DXM. It had a similar effect as DXM alone in high doses but much more relaxed. There were really weird thoughts about everything and a lot of visuals and audios although my pig just took 20 mg Zolpidem and about 200 mg DXM.
All in all my pig is very fascinated of Zolpidem and wouldn't like to miss it. But it also says that there is a fast addiction and you have to raise the dose. Another danger is that there can be irrational acts and at the next day you often can't remember anything.
But this is just the gained experience of my pig, maybe other people have different effects.

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

SWIM's had some odd experiences with Ambien (zolpidem). When SWIM was a teenager (maybe 14 years old) he was looking to get high and he went scrounging through his mother's medicine cabinet. All he could find was Ambien. SWIM had a rudimentary knowledge of pharmacology at that time and knew that Ambien was related to benzodiazapines so he figured maybe he could get high off them. He went online and looked up the abuse potential of Ambien. He found a site which compared 40mg Ambien to 10mg diazepam. "Not a bad deal" SWIM thought to himself and went the medicine cabinet and snitched 16 of the little halves his mother had in the bottle (16x2.5=40mg). SWIM ate those little bitches and then took a few more for good measure. Expecting no more than a calm euphoria, SWIM was shocked when the pills hit him. He remembers feeling like a robot as he walked around and hearing weird auditory hallucinations. Then he started to throw up really bad and he figured he'd fucked up big time and had probably OD'd and was going to die. He robowalked over to his big comfy chair and sat down and had some strange hallucinations, most of which he can't remember. One was of a dog running around his living room barking. SWIM then proceeded to pass the fuck out (pure black dead sleep). The next thing SWIM remembers is waking up the next day surprised to be alive and feeling better than ever.

SWIM's lifelong friend discovered this little drug in his mom's medicine cabinet a couple of years later. He can remember him calling SWIM up and laughing hysterically and saying "I'm on a ship man and its rocking back and forth. Whoooooooaaaaaa. hahahahahahaha." He apparently really enjoyed it which i thought was pretty strange. It turns out that his mom actually started abusing the Ambien on a daily basis. She would take that shit and walk around the house babbling incoherent and acting all weird. She abused those pills for a long time (years) and eventually went batshit insane and last SWIM heard she bit some dude's dick off (true story, her own son told SWIM).

Anyway, Ambien's definetly a delierient in high doses. I don't know how in the Hell these sites extrapolate that 40mg = 10mg diazepam. It's complete bullshit. SWIM didn't find the experience enjoyable at all, but apparently some do. If you're gonna abuse this shit, be safe and use a sitter. Also, be mindful that "recreational" doses of this stuff haven't really been tested and may have long-term consequences.

Cool Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences; Snowflaking

SWIM has found a really trippy thing to do on zolpidem. Heres how it went down. SWIM snorted 10mg of zolpidem and decided to go outside and have a smoke while the effects came on. It was about 2am and pitch black outside (lives out in the boonies). He lit the cig and noticed what looked like a snowflake from the strike of the lighter appear. SWIM decided to investigate this further and began to furiously strike the light in front of his face in different spots at high speeds. The craziest visuals he ever experienced then happened. The strikes from the lighter created a blueish purple snowflake that slowly fell to the ground. SWIM striked the lighter about 15 times and the same thing happened again but also seemed to recreate the snowflakes from the previous strikes which fell to the ground behind the newly created ones. What made the affect more realistic is when he moved his head around the eyes stayed fixated on the burn-in image of the snowflakes, making them seem to stay in the same spot when falling to the ground. SWIM decided to do it again but this time try to touch them. When his fingers intersected with the snowflake images they disappeared as if melting on the fingers. SWIM became so engrossed in the experience that when he finally stopped and went back inside the clock said he had been doing this for a solid hour. This snowflaking is by far the most enjoyable thing SWIM has ever done on zolpidem and now does it to kick off a zolpidem trip. If SWIY tries this SWIM would be curious to know if they have a similar experience. Peace.

On a quick side note SWIM has found that if one snorts a very small amount of zolpidem and waits about 5mins there is alot less dripping when snorting the remaining zolpidem. Seems to prep the sinuses and avoids excessive drainage.

Kid takes too many Ambien (Zolpidem) at school

SWIM wrote this a while back. I figured I'd post it for you all to enjoy or make fun of. Or enjoy making fun of. Whatever makes you happy.

I had just gotten back from a five day cruise when it all started. On the first few days of the cruise, I tried to get alcohol from several people, but no one was very helpful. Once we made it to St. Martin, I figured I'd at least be able to buy some weed and maybe even a cool looking bowl, but I had no such luck. I was feeling hot and sticky and I had a case of swamp ass for the record books. It took a while, but I finally convinced my family it was time to get back on the ship. On the ferry ride back, my mom told me she had been offered free weed by people in the one store I hadn't gone in. I can't remember a time when I was more frustrated than that moment. I spent the rest of the cruise in the room feeling sorry for my self and watching Dick and Jane in several different languages.

This frustration carried over when I arrived at home. The next day I had school, so I decided I'd do something fun. My friend didn't really have anything with her, but she offered me some Ambien. Now, I had tried Ambien before and it didn't really end well. At any other time, I would have declined and looked for something better to do, but I had just gotten off that cruise and I wanted to be fucked up then and there. Needless to say, I accepted.

When I got the Ambien, I made a bee line to the bathroom. I pulled the prescription bottle out and got my first glimpse of the end of my life as I knew it. Inside were 8 small, round, blue, tablets containing Ambien in its controlled release form. The last time, I had taken 3 and that was the regular form, so I figured 2 was a safe start. I pulled out my water bottle and downed two.

The bell rang for first period so off I went. The funny thing about me and Ambien is that I have no clue when it kicks in or exactly how altered my state is. After first period, I was kind of annoyed. I wasn't feeling anything (or so I thought), so I went to the bathroom and took another pill.

Second period was pretty cool. I felt a definite change in my demeanor. I was extremely laid back, not caring whether I played bad or not. (2nd period was band.) I also felt happy. I was making great jokes. All the band nerds worshiped me. I should have stopped there. Instead, I went in the bathroom and took another pill. As much as I knew better, more drugs meant more fun at the time. Something in my mind told me to toss out the prescription bottle and to put the pills in my pocket. Perhaps I knew what was to come.

In case you weren't counting, this was pill number 4 for me. In my head, this seemed like a perfectly fine number; nothing to brag about, but nothing to turn your nose up to either. Wrong! I can't remember much of third period, but from what I heard from friends afterward, it basically consisted of me grinning, waving my arms around, telling people to shut the fuck up, and claiming I knew far more Spanish than they did. I do remember a notable change in my physical state. I had begun sweating. I'm a big guy, so sweating for no good reason isn't exactly foreign to me, but this wasn't a little sweat on my brow. This was full blown football game sweat. I looked and felt disgusting and I could feel my self beginning to black out.

I was worried, really worried. As much as I felt like nothing mattered I knew I had taken too much and I had about a 20% chance of not getting caught. I don't remember the bell ringing, I don't remember getting up, and I certainly don't remember walking across the school to the bathroom right next to my 4th period class. However, I do remember standing in the bathroom with the remaining 4 pills in one hand and my water bottle in the other. My mind was all cloudy and by my calculations, I now had zero chance of getting away with all of this. I now had a choice to make. I could throw the pills in the trash and hope everyone in the school just ignored the 6'3" 350 lb kid drooling on himself, or I could take the rest and go out in style. I took the rest, but I didn't go out in style. I blacked out.

The remainder of this story is based on first hand accounts from my friends and the reports the teachers and administrators wrote. My fiend (the one who gave me the Ambien) was in my fourth period. She said as soon as I came in she knew something had gone horribly, horribly wrong. I was sweating profusely and stumbling all over my self. She walked over to me and quickly led me to my seat before the teacher came in.

She asked me how many I had taken and I said "all of them" with a goddamn grin on my face. How big of an ass am I? I can only imagine how she felt at that moment. She did everything she could to keep me out of trouble, but I kept cursing at the teacher when she asked me to lift my head up. Then, right before lunch, the teacher called the front office and told them they needed to pick up a student. Luckily, the bell for lunch rang. I yelled out, "Saved by the bell!” got up (with my friends assistance), and stumbled out of the classroom for lunch.

This is the part I'm glad I don't remember. I guess I made it all the way down the hallway and to the stairs. Lunch meant I had to go down stairs, so down stairs I went. I did it in a rather unique way though. I made it two steps down before I lost my balance. The rest of my trip down consisted of a role akin to a scene from Indiana Jones. Kids jumped out of the way as they saw me coming. I'm just glad I didn't seriously hurt anyone. Well, that's not true; I did seriously hurt my self. I must have landed directly on my knees or something because they hurt like all kinds of hell when I woke up. I guess after I landed, I pissed my self. Imagine that. A huge kid sporting a "got crabs" shirt, covered in sweat just rolled down the stairs, landed, and pissed him self. I'm just going to let that scene play out in your mind for a bit.

This naturally caused a commotion (noted in one of the dean's reports), and they were on the way. Somehow, my friend managed to help me up and bring me to some bench. (I know, she's a real trooper) I'm not easily hidden even in the mob that is today's high school, so I was spotted by the administrators rather quickly.

They took me into some office and began questioning me. I told them everything that happened save my friends name. They kept asking me where I got the drugs and I gave them a multitude of answers including finding them on the very boat that caused this madness. They kept asking me questions until one noticed my eyes rolling into the back of my head and called an ambulance fearing for my health. I was literally rolled out of school on a gurney in the middle of lunch. You can imagine my embarrassment!

In the hospital, I met my mom and had a catheter inserted into my penis. I don't know if any of you have ever had this done, but let me tell you, it sucks. Thank god I don't remember the actual insertion of it. In fact, the next thing I remember after my black out is waking up in the hospital with my arms restrained and the worst feeling in the world in my dick. In my Ambien addled brain I thought I had fallen on top of a knife and that knife had gone right up my dick. I began pulling and straining at it until I pulled the bag off and my piss spilled out all over the bed. I must have felt unbelievably embarrassed at the time. The nurses didn’t seem to mind me much though because they decided to keep me over night for observation.

I guess there was a bit of confusion about where to keep me once they were sure I wasn’t in any real danger. I was brought to this hospital because of my size, but my age made it clear that I should be transferred to Arnold Palmer. They had me roll over onto a gurney. I was able to do this much, but I ended up lying on my stomach with my ass sticking up in the air. There was no back to this particular gown, so the nurses were left with quite a view.

Anyway, they eventually got me lying upright and into an ambulance. On the ride over, the some bitch kept telling me I had to watch my language when I got to the new hospital. She told me it was full of kids and my type of language would not cut it. I replied with something like, “Well shit I guess I’ll have to talk more like this.” She informed me that I had just cursed again. I replied, “Wow, I guess I’m more fucked up than I thought I was.” She kind of laughed nervously and didn’t say much for the rest of the ride.

When I arrived at the hospital I was wheeled into an elevator. It was a short ride, but that didn’t stop me from making small talk. “Hey!” I exclaimed. The Male nurse that was riding up the elevator with me glanced in my direction, rolled his eyes, and then looked away. Naturally, I took this as an invitation to continue the exchange. “Long shift?” I asked. The guy sighed and muttered something like, “Yeah, now just be quiet.”

It was at this point that the elevator doors opened. I guess we had made it to our destination. My new friend wheeled me to the room I’d be staying in and told me to be quiet because the babies were sleeping. Then he walked away.

A few minutes later, an amazingly stunning nurse came up and checked my vitals. I didn’t say much to her, but I wasn’t exactly shy. I kind of just stared at her ass and drooled. Anyway, she left and a doctor and a couple more nurses came back. They were whispering which, of course, pissed me off. It wasn’t that I cared about what they were saying (they were asking me about how I felt, what I took, what I’ve taken in the past, how often I’ve taken it, why did I take it, etc…), I didn’t. I just didn’t care for the constant hissing. My solution to this was to speak as loud as possible. I figured if I raised my voice, they’d subconsciously raise theirs. This didn’t work as well as you might think and it took a while for them to calm me down. Eventually, they left and I was able to get some much needed shut eye. After all, this had been a long day.

I woke up the next day around 5 am thinking I’d be able to go home soon. Oh how wrong I was. I had to be cleared first which took forever. I guess doctors are busy people. Go figure. Anyway, I spent the day watching all these gorgeous nurses hitting on kids barely 3 years old. I just kept thinking, “What the hell is this shit?! My cock has to be at least twice the size of that kid’s.” They were all fawning over some black kid who was missing the bottom half of his jaw. They’d ask him if who was his girlfriend and he’d point to a different girl every time. The kid could have at least left me the fatty, but no. He had to make her his wife. What a dick…

After 6 or so hours of this shit, some shrink visited me. She asked me a ton of questions about whether I was depressed and if I had thoughts of suicide. By the time she was done, I was aggravated again. I just wanted to get the hell out of there and here was some lady trying to find problems where there weren’t any.

Eventually, I was cleared to be released. I called my mom and had her come pick me up. The ride home was kind of awkward. What exactly are you supposed to say in that situation? I didn’t know, so I just kept my mouth shut and listened to the radio.

About two weeks later, I had a meeting with my school to see if I would be expelled or not. It came down to whether or not I was going to give up the girl who gave me the Ambien’s name or not. I wouldn’t, so I got expelled.

Ah, I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be posted in one standard Ambien experience thread or in a new thread. Now I know.

Total BS that you got expelled. Good on you for not giving up your friend. You sound smart - get back in school and leav...

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

Ambien can be extremely intense. SWIM took 20mg orally and saw things move and morph into other things, it was cool at first, until SWIM forgot how many he took and snorted 20mg more! I then had a BAD trip which lasted 24 hrs. and still freaks me out. Be careful on Ambien.

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

Ambien works best when fighting jet lag, though it gets freaky if SWIY are able to stay up.

SWIM can attest that Ambien + alcohol is not a good combination. SWIM had a glass of wine at dinner, and realised that he had to get up early tomorrow to get things done, so he took 12.5 mg about two hours after dinner. SWIM's vision began to fade before he blacked out on his bathroom floor, only to wake up ten hours later at 6am. SWIM found it slightly amusing since it reminded him of a character on Weeds that did the same thing, but SWIM has realised since then how close he could've been to being hospitalised.

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

Swim's first zolpidem prescripition came with a good-hearted warning from the pharmacist: "You're going to take it in bed, right?" To which he bubbled, "Swim''ll be at home in his aquarium taking it easy, he won't be out driving, he'll make sure he's home when it hits him." The pharmacist said he had prescribed it to an older person who was walking down the hall to bed and completely did a face plant down on their carpet, scraping up their face quite nicely.

Swim having a lion's share of drug experience and various resistances, (examples: ex-IV coke & h, occasional crack, opiates/alcohol/benzos, codeine cough syrup/SOMAs/xanax/and a beer, etc. etc. ) giggles a little inwardly. He's also about 230 lbs.

But he really needs to sleep well tonight, so he takes one 10 mg tablet orally. About half an hour after ingesting it, he starts to feel a slight loss of motor control while trying to eat a sandwich. Hands were not cooperating and swim was annoyed getting his little flippers smeared with mustard and other condiments, so he threw the remaining sandwich away.

Getting up and walking around resulted in a difficulty with depth perception--everything either seemed too close or too far away, in a kind of sharp 3-d quality. Even laying down in his familiar fishbed felt odd to Swim, the fabrics felt coarse and different that usual. He was able to relax and drift off quite nicely, an 8-9 hour deep sleep (sometimes with interesting dreams in the morning). The next morning can be fairly groggy with slight irritability (could probably sleep 11-12 hours if no responsibilities).

Swim's upped the dose, and has tried snorting the crushed zolpidem. It does come on a little faster but Swim's little gills are too sensitive to take it in this way all the time. Tonight Swim crushed a 10 mg tablet then put the ensuing mess under his tongue until at least 75% dissolved. Washed the rest down with some nice warm tea. 45 minutes later crushed a half a tablet doing the same thing, then again 15 minutes later for a total of 20 mg total in one hour. South Park episode was pretty amusing, then time to mess with the computer and pick out a bedtime disc for later. There's the noticeable spacial differences mainly--objects seem more vivid and or just stand out more, leading me to believe they'd have possible meaning?? Swim feels very relaxed, but more controlled than groggy as long as he is involved in doing something. Past experience have included Swim laying down to watch a movie and walking up from total sleep 2-3 hours later on the living room couch, totally disoriented. Also: Going to bed wearing headphones to listen to tunes, the next day Swim remembers maybe the first song or two and the headphones are yanked out of the machine, laying on the ground or bottom of the bed which indicates a late night thrashing of some kind.

Zolpidem's an effective sleeping pill that can be used recreationally, but people need to know their limits and should be home or in a safe environment like a friend's house.

Trip report, Zolpidem/kratom/promethazine.

Trip report: Zolpidem ( stilnox )/kratom ( Extra enhanced thaï)/promethazine.

Name: Like Hidalgo Don quixote/Come what may.
Substance/dosage: Zolpidem 40mg/Kratom 10gr ( 15mg alkaloïde per gr )/promethazine 75mg.
Set&Setting: Nice apartment, in the morning, cheerfulness.
Weight/height/gender: 78kg, 1,85m, Caucasian males.
Empty stomach.

Firstly I have to say that my rats, a very big and tall pets, have a large tolerance with Zolpidem and kratom and "natural" affinity with GABA receptor drugs.

This experience began in the morning. And 3 hours before the real trip my rats took 20mg of zolpidem to induce sleep without result. So...

T - 3:00: Swim took 2 tablets of stilnox, 10 mg each.

T 0:00: A little bit disappointed by the miss in inducing sleep with stilnox but in the same time very relaxed ( thanks to zolpidem), my rats in possession of box of stilnox, very good and potent enhanced kratom It was decided to experiment by using zolpidem in a experimental way.
Because of his tolerance, he chose this combo.
Ingestion of enhanced kratom 10gr plus 75mg of promethazine.

T+0:15: Time to take zolpidem!

T+0:30: First effect arrives, promethazine won the run. Little sedative effect.

T+0:40: Kratom do his work, thaï krat is know for his energising effect, with this dosage swim took approximately 150mg of various alkaloïde present in mitrygana speciosa. The energizing effect get the upper on the light sedation led by promethazine.

T+0:50: Zolpidem arrives finally. To began, my rats felt very relaxed, without anxiety, and light tinnitus in the right ear.

T+1:00: Swim was alone in his apartment, first he had decided to live the trip in his room, with small ligth and nice psychedelic hanging on his wall.
But the sedation was so intense that he prefer his living room with nice music ( jim murple memorial ) and all windows opened.

T+1:20: Swim is totally stoned, for any reason, he decided to connected himself to drugs forum, UTFSE ( not easy, even more when you're stoned ) to found zolpidem ressources and finally arrives on this page.
His field of vision was widening, vacillating. His legs were heavy and promethazine didn't make his work, itching was horrible.

T+1:45: always on DF, one more good idea...why swim would not begin the drafting of his trip report...such an idea!!!
He focused on the PC, it was so hard to wrote or even to see something on the screen!
Now he talked with invisible people, or maybe at himself but loudly

T+2:00: In despite of his heavy legs, swims didn't stay in place, he tried to get up, but immediatly he fall on the sofa!
Tinnitus was still here. fields of vision returned to the normal.
He don't talk to himself anymore, he analized this situation and laughed about this.
Itching always itching.

T+2:45: He recovered his mind, kratom took the fist place.

T+3:00: Zolpidem effect were done. Now only light kratom effect and always fu***ng itching.

T+5:00: this is the end, my rats was tired, he decided to go to his bed.

Conclusion: Swim don't know if the combination of zolpidem and kratom have any interrest. He didn't took promethazine for psychoactive effect, just for his antihistaminic properties, but it was a failure.
He never really used recreationally Zolpidem, but sometimes he didn't sleep with this medics and the effect were less pleasant than without kratom.
More euphoria, less sedative effect.

Sorry my english isn't fluent, if you don't understand something don't hesitate to tell him to swim.

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

SWIM was coming down from IVing coke. To do so he ate 30 mgs of valium and drank 4 beers, About an hour into it he realizes that's not going to do anything and gets into the sample packs of Ambien from the doctor, eats one (12.5 mg) and preps one for IV (12.5 mg.) This CAN be done, effectively and safely but the explanation is too long. he'll post an "Injecting Ambien TEK" somewhere else. some other time.
The IVhit him like a ton of bricks. It felt tike an injection of Versed, cocaine and DPT all at once, for about 3 minutes, then it was just powerful sedation, and when the ambien he ate caught up with the one he shot he collapsed into sleep.

Re: Ambien (Zolpidem) Experiences

My girlfriend asked me to post this:

Every night he'd take his normal dose of Ambien (I think it was 10mg?) & fight the sedation for the first 30 minutes. Once he passed that point, he would get very creative & work on some art project for an hour or so. Then he would come find me & try to pick fights with me, act really mean & try to cut me down/talk shit to me. Then he'd want to die and harm himself (wrist cutting, taking a razor blade to his thigh, punching walls to break his hand, all kinds of shit). At this point I'd be able to get him to lay in bed, crying, then he'd finally fall asleep. He'd awake the next morning with no recollection of ANYTHING that happened the night before - wouldn't believe he did what I told him he did, didn't remember doing the art project but at least believed me about that because we had the proof of the finished project.

FINALLY, I audio-taped him one night berating me & shortly after made a few video clips of his behaviour with my cell phone, this got him to believe me & he mostly stopped taking the Ambien. Every once in a while for a couple more months he'd try taking it again, wake up with huge gouges in his body from cutting himself (but no memory of doing it) and finally, FINALLY, stopped taking it altogether.

So, I just want you to warn your forum buddies to be careful fucking around with Ambien, especially if they're alone, since it causes blackouts & they could be doing dangerous shit they won't remember!
I remember this being a really screwed up and weird time for her (and it would have been bad for him too, if he could have remembered it!).
