Re: Martial arts??

I have practiced Tae Kwon Do since I was 5, making it 13 years now. In addition I have become adept with a bo staff and have some hapkido experiance. I also enjoy doing some training exercises of boxing, but not the sport itself. This is mainly from not wishing to get hit in the brain, an organ i deem important.

Re: Martial arts??

swim did krav maga for a year about 3 years ago.he dosent remember all of the stuff but sience it relys on moves that have to do with instincts(you get put in a coke hold your hands automatically go up to your neck so the move works from there)he knows enough to hold his own.

Re: Martial arts??

I did 5 years of Ju-Jitsu becoming both a junior and senior black belt and teaching in the kiddie and adult sessions.... then I moved to go to uni and became a slob - gaining 2 stone and forgetting the japanese names to all the moves
)
Gonna get back into it after uni hopefully. I loved the weapons side the best, Bostaff, sword and sai daggers D

Re: Martial arts??

Ive taken formal training in TKD and hapkido. (i find one of those arts a complete waste of time imo) i also study israeli combat systems and know the us Marine combat system as a former Marine. I have recently started taking classes about an hour from where i live in BJJ as that is my weakest spot currenty. I have weapons training and a concealed weapons permit (god help us all) and lots of metal things that go boom.

Re: Martial arts??

SWIM is practicing Kyokushinkai Karate and kick boxing. He also practiced Judo, Pencak Silat (Drosomo) and is target practicing with various fire weapons and crossbows. He also like to do something else once in a while, for example when there is a martial arts workshop. (Last time he did a Krav Maga workshop, which was fun).

Re: Martial arts??

I have done a couple of years of Lau Gar Kung fu in college (great martial art but you rarely become proficient in a student club)

Muay Thai (the best for fitness & conditioning but has little in the way of technique)
Gan Teora (Irish for without limits) Mugendo (a great all rounder)
Bujinkan Ninjitsu (I went for a couple of months but had to stop because of exams etc. and am now a little embarrassed to go back but I will bite the bullet soon)

I have also done a little Tae Kwon Do but the trainer spent so much time talking that I just couldn't deal with it.

Re: Martial arts??

I have experience from BJJ (with Gi), and i also train MMA with a Muai Thai coach and a brazilian jiujitsu coach. No holds barred fighting is the shit. And its gonna get really big now that UFC bought Pride.

Anybody watch MMA fighting?

Re: Martial arts??

UFC should include fine joint manipulation and itd be about a thousand times better. It looks like low class gay porn now, its sort of disturbing. Also has anyonenoticed any of the people whom have training in tae kwon do in the UFC use it TERRIBLY. I most often end up yelling ferociously at the screen. Also, watch ricky hatton box, hes the man. Any of ya'll whove played fight night round three, knows that boxing is his nature.
