Should illegal drugs be decriminalised?
Please take a look at this head-to-head argument between an exponent of decriminalisation and one who is most definitely against it. If any of you have ever wondered what Gráinne Kenny is about, read 'em and weep (and she will most certainly make you weep). There is a poll attached to this link where the voting currently stands at 28% yes and 72% no (unfortunately....of course the yes vote is split as some may not wish for decrim, but full legalisation).
Take a look and vote here: http://www.ireland.com/head2head/ |

Re: Should illegal drugs be decriminalised?
SWIM has voted and left his comment. It's interesting to see how this poll will turn out. some of the comments there are pretty educated as well but some are just rambling

Re: Should illegal drugs be decriminalised?
SWIM also voted and left a comment. Seán Cassin's argument doesn't go into very good detail and I'm afraid Gráinne Kenny's argument, despite using irrelevant facts, seems more appealing to the average reader. Some of the comments are interesting, others sound like blind outrage. At least it seems people are able to differentiate between decriminalisation and legalising although a 70% majority against decriminalisation paints a very bad picture overall. Then again though, opinions are like assholes...

Re: Should illegal drugs be decriminalised?
Too true. It seems everyone likes to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong. Time and time again, SWIM has encountered people who are fully willing to argue in favour of prohibition and will debate it to the ground yet not produce one decent point because in essence, they know nothing about drugs, drug culture and the actual damage that drug prohibition causes. It's very much like Richard Dawkins arguing against a priest.

Re: Should illegal drugs be decriminalised?
Yes we have to be able to look at both sides of the story not just one as those anti-weed people seem to do

Re: Should illegal drugs be decriminalised?
Anyone actually realise that the most religious places in the world have the harshest drug penalties. I think in a way some ones is trying to push there religion and morals on to us all.
