Drug info - Psilocybe arcana

I'd like some more information about Psilocybe arcana. Please post any information about this Wood loving Psilocybe mushroom here.

I'd also like to know how active this mushroom is.

This website states that Psilocybe arcana has a "high content of psychoactive components", along the lines of Psilocybe semilanceata and Psilocybe bohemica so it say.

The results of this study prove the presence of at least three species of Psilocybe with a high content of psychoactive components growing in our republic: Psilocybe semilanceata, Psilocybe bohemica and Psilocybe arcana.

I wonder what they would classify as a high content?

From Stamets (1996):

P. bohemica:

Potently active. Stijve and Kuyper (1985) found maxima of .80% psilocybin, .02% psilocin, and .03% baeocystin. Gartz published two studies: in 1993, he found maxima of .96% psilocybin, .02% psilocin, and .03% baeocystin, and in 1994 he found 1.34% psilocybin, .02% psilocin, and .03% baecystin.

P. semilanceata:

Moderately active to extremely potent. Gartz (1993) reported an average of 1% psilocybin, with a range of .2 - 2.37%, the highest psilocybin content yet reported.


The entry on semilanceata has more study results which I'm too lazy to type out right now, but that should give you an idea of what they think is "high content."

I'm geussing P. arcana was "discovered" after 1996, since it is not included in the above-quoted text?
