Ultram is an amazing pain killer

Most of what I've read is a lot of hate going out to ultram(tramadol) about its recreational and theraputic benefits and I would like to say that you people are expecting way to much. If you want to getted floored by opiates than this is not your drug but swim has had scripts of vicodin, tylenol 3, percocet, and even a few shots of morphine for bad back pain and they pale in comparison to the pain killing effects of ultram. It might be that he's kinda opiate tolerant, but for all those actually looking for pain relief and not getting high ultram should be a place to look.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

swim got a scrip once after going through 4 bottles of ES vicodin and 3 bottles of norco... they didnt do anything except ward off withdrawal, but when swim finished them (swim tried popping 5 or 6 and nothing would happen), swim went through hell for weeks.

Norco is the brand name for a preparation of 10 mg hydrocodone, 325 acetaminophen. In the U.S. this is the highest amount of hydrocodone in one pill many people will have access to, SWIM has heard of 15/325 hydrocodone/APAP pills but to get those, one has to have a pharmacist specially compound them.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

It all depends on tolerance and experience. Swim came across ultram and consumed only one 50mg pill, and felt quite good. Indeed somethin like percocet has a more exaggerated feeling, but if one is looking for a more relaxed, subtle euphoria, ultram is good.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

I've heard the same thing about methadone. It has gotten a bad rep because it takes a few days to build up in your body, but it is a powerful painkiller for people with chronic pain. People want to be able to take a pill and an hour later feel pain relief. Methadone could potentially be better for people with chronic pain as a means of pain management but people with temporary pain will probably stick with the instant stuff.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

It must just be swim then, because he could almost touch his toes pain free last night on just 50mg of tramadol and some muscle relaxers. This is feat he has not been able to do in months and tried again this morning and couldnt do it. This time he's trying just 100mg of tramadol to see how it works.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

SWIM got pretty good pain relief from tramadol as well. He didn't get much in the way of recreational effects, but tramadol was great at treating migraines that normal treatments (everything from OTC ibuprofen and aspirin to prescribed tryptans like imitrex and such) wouldnt touch.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

Yea I just made the post to tell all those out there who don't get very good pain killing effects from regular opiates like swim that ultram could work for them. He wouldn't say it has no rec potential though, because he feels like nothing in the world will bother him on it plus he has a ton of energy unlike all those nasty opiates. He took 100mg with 2.5mg of valium today and the stimulation of the ultram took care of the downing effects of valium, but all the great positive effects of valium are still there. So overall he would classify it as a fun substance but not recreational.

Alot of people do have alot of fun on the substance though, even though others don't like it nearly as much.

Check here for a wider range of experiences ---> Tramadol experiences

Ultram save my life in the Trenches of verdun

I broke my foot while going to school in Belgium. I was studying WW1 histroy we went to 5 battle grounds and various forts. I had a broken foot the whole time and being a Historian I had the best time of my life trampin around with a cast on my foot on tramadol and my alprazolam. Both prescribed by the absolute best HEALTH CARE SYSTEM EVER. god if your from the states you just dont know untill youve been. I walked into the hospital and told them I didnt have anymoney they laughed at me and then took my id and treated me for free after telling me only america charges for health. WHAT A GREAT COUNTRY god bless belgium.

But the point is tramadol worked for me (pain wise)

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

Swim once in desperation crushed 150 mg during a gout flareup when the Solu-Medrol injection that used to end Swim's gout pain withing a few minutes didn't work and snorted it and said it was quite enjoyable as well as, surprisingly, Swim says, offering more relief than the 40 mg OxyContin Swim snorted the night before.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

The chick across the street has a script for ultram and oxycodone (10mgs). SHe is prescribed 30 mgs of oxycodone each day, and she is usually lucky enough to score some roxicodone 30's off the street.

WELL, the chick across the street ran into some financial difficulties and realized that not only had she gone through her oxycodone script but that she had also eaten 30 30mg roxy's in less than three weeks.. She is out of luck on her script and too broke to buy street roxy's.

So TCATS took a look in the old medicine cabinet and saw that she still had some ultram (100 mgs) and some 10 mg flexeril tabs. So, being desperate and in serious pain, she downed 5 ultram 100's and 2 flexeril 10s.

All she had to say is that people who are able to compare Ultram to Oxy or heroin are VERY lucky because despite the 500 mgs of ultram and 30 mgs of flex, she still felt like absolute shit. Fortunately for TCATS, she has a cool dope man who gave her 5 roxi 30's until payday.

SOmetimes TCATS wonders if this is all worth it. . Then she gets some oxy's and knows the answer.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

500mg of tramadol is going to make anyone feel like shit. I don't know why anyone would compare them to oxycodone either. Tramadol is a very effective pain killer with a bit of a mood boost, not really the euphoric, recreational wonder of other opiates.

Re: Ultram is an amazing pain killer

SWIM says tramadol has never done anything for him.

He is of the opinion that if a doctor was to give him tramadol when he was in pain, he would make sure that the doctor was in just as much pain as he was. LOL.

For others it seems to work well though, so it is just his personal opinion

agree its a nice pain killer and mostly useless as recreational SWIM would have more fun huffing gas at the gas station than tramadol
