Check out my blog for the plans:
Quote:
I was sitting in a hottub at a hotel stoned when I realized that the bubbles weren't on. I went over to the switch and turned them on. Suddenly, I heard air being sucked in from somewhere and the bubbles began to show up. I looked over the fence and saw a white tube sticking out of the ground. I hopped over and put my hand over the pipe. As predicted, the bubbles in the hottub stopped.
A couple days later, I was in the hottub stoned again. I had been trying to make a bong out of a twenty ounce Sprite bottle with limited materials all day and when I thought about my experience the other day with the air intake and bubble production, I envisioned the biggest bong ever.
For those of you who don't know how a bong works, I'll explain a simple one. There is a shaft which contains water at the bottom and two tubes at the top of the shaft, the first tube ending below the waterline and the second ending above it. The bud is lit at the top of the first tube and the second tube is used to suck. With this action combo, smoke is drawn into the first tube, cooled by the water, and brought into the smoker by the first tube.
Though my bong would prove most inefficient in its waste of smoke, it would, however, be the biggest one in existence! First, one would secure a layer of tinfoil over the opening of the white tube, poke a bunch of small holes in it and top it off with weed. Then, lean a flaming torch over the weed and flip the bubbles on. Jump in the hottub and breathe normally. The bubbles will pop and THC-filled smoke will pour out. You'll be high in minutes.
I do warn, though, that the pipes and the water should be clean. If the water has chlorine in it or some other chemical, you could be inhaling toxic fumes.
If anyone ever attempts my idea, I'd be interested to hear about it. Drop me a line.
