BDO and the times.

my name is unity, I am a long time poster of usenet, and a new one on this forum. I am very familiar with GBL/GHB, I have been researching it since the late 90's, and ingesting it since then as well, after opwebslinger hit, I lost a lot of my sources, hell all of them, shortly after and became a heroin junkie to fill the void. One of the main reasons I think I switched to opiates was b/c of the "last longer during sex" that both chemicals offer. Enough about me and onto the subject.

back in the day 2002-2003 they pulled once removed and various other glue/nail polish removers off the market b/c they contained gbl instead of acetone or other non-polar solvents, which is/was expected. However due to recent research BDO as peaked my interests. It does/would fall under the analog act in most courts of law but generally speaking BDO is legal in all other respects of the law, and is even questionsable as an analog since they proved GABA was closer to GBL than BDO was. What I want to know is are there any chemicals on the markets or products rather that contain BDO? I know you can obtain them over the net, not sure on the sources so dont ask me about that. But like as far as going to the store, are there any products that contain BDO, that anyone is aware of? Are there any chemicals extremely similar that would be easy to convert, I am not a chemist but I was looking at the chemical names/makeup of antifreeze and it looked similar to BDO any chance of converting that into some BDO? or is there a tech like there is for gbl. like gaba --> gbl?

1,4 butanediol is essentially as illegal as gbl and ghb in the US. It also pales in comparison to the other two though it never turned out to be toxic like the other two (2 years daily 10-20 ml use and unscathed and no withdrawals..). It can be converted into GBL and GHB, and so can THF and GABA.

SWIM is also enormously versed in GBL/GHB and related substances. SWIM was into making his own several years prior to the 'emergency/eventually permanent' scheduling of GHB (and GBL as a sched I precursor) in the U.S.

With this said, and with all due respect to the parties in this thread already, 1,4 Butanediol is *not* at all illegal in the US, and is not a watched/controlled chemical, unless somebody was foolish enough to mention illegal use at the time of purchase. SWIM says not to look for products that contain 1,4B, but rather look a little harder into how one would go about acquiring 1,4B without raising any flags. It is/can be done very easily. How, I wouldn't be at liberty to say. What SIWM will say, though, is that SWIM figured out what he knows about the acquisition of 1,4B on his own, and thinks SWIY should be able to, too.

SWIM also finds it to be almost identical in feeling (hypothetically) to GBL/GHB. There is a very very immeasurably small difference which can be noted between the 1,4B and the other two, but it is essentially a non-issue. If you like 1, you should like the other.

Answering the initial question, in a nutshell: Don't look for obscure products. Look for how to order exactly what you want, from a chemical supplier where you know what you are getting is pure, and you don't have to fret over any extractions or other such unnecessary steps.

SWIM has always understood it is a watched chemical precursor and purchases reportable to the DEA. even though there is no official federal regulation, it is tentatively covered under the analog act and most likely reported. It is also illegal in several states. Erowid has a current summary of regulation.s There are certainly many sources for it, some off which are probably quite safe, but SWIM would recommend any parties looking for it to verify the law themselves. The consequence of possession is very high. Keep in mind that even without being prosecuted for the 1,4 butanediol, it could certainly initiate a search, harrassment by LE, a court case, and perhaps even a conviction. Best have a clean house before considering ordering...
Also, 1,4 BDO is nothing like GHB or GBL. SWIM has probably ingested about 5 gallons of GBL and about 1.5 gallons of 1,4 BDO before running out. The BDO was a poor alternative that took longer to come on, longer to wear off, less of a euphoric peak effect, less dopamine rebound, greater dependence, and weird side effects when binging on large amounts. There is also a toxic aldehyde intermediate which may or may not be of consequence (SWIM hopes not given how much swim ingested over the years, but damage done and so far so good..). it seemed to crossreact with some drugs, most notably BZP and also seemed to raise SWIMs blood pressure by at least 10-20 systolic which dropped when SWIM ran out. GBL or GHB are vastly superior in SWIMs eyes, though SWIM does not think that there are any major concerns over long-term toxicity though some seem to think there are.

SWIM was already aware that you could aquire BDO and GHV over the internet and various other ways from places that arent local. BUT another SWIM was wondering, if this chemical itself isnt scheduled, except under opinions of the analog act, and not directly illegal...there must be some OTC sources available...there were numerous before gbl got scheduled, so SWIM would assume the same should apply in this case...if SWIY would have any input on that , that is the real topic/question swim is trying to get it. How to obtain BDO OTC...or very close.

1,4BDO is an industrial precursor and is not generally used as a solvent and plexiglas glue like GBL was. To SWIM's knowledge, there are no OTC sources, though if SWIY or any other SWIMs out there know of some, please share. SWIM came up blank, though.
SWIM tried some GHV a long time ago and it was virtually worthless and tasted like burnt plastic. Made GBL downright tasty.

BDO is the best recreative substance swim used in his life!!!! it feels exactly like GHB but it lasts longer!!! i´ts not dirty like othe swims report.....it´s really clean.....swim likes better then GHB and GBL......it´s really euphoric if you know your dose and it´s not sleepy like some people report....the ones that found it sleepy took it too much i am sure...

It would probably be a good idea for there to be more info on 1,4 BDO in this forum as there is a substantial amount of research for GHB and GBL but very little for BDO.
