Iv'e been taking Norco 10/325's for about three years, I was up to about thirty a day, recently I have come down to 15mg's a day. So 300mg's to 15mg's, I have gone through hell, pain, panic attacks, hallucinations, and did I say pain! I have a medical contidion so I do have a prescription, but I can never make it to the refill. Question is now that I am down to 15mg's for two weeks straight, Is it going to hurt worse if I stop completely. I have overcome EVERY other drug out there, but this one's definatley not like the others. And what about the original condition that causes the pain in the first place?

You're ingesting about 5 grams/day of acetaminophen which is hepatoxic & nephrotoxic (i.e. will harm your liver and kidneys). 4 grams is the recommended max. daily dosage and that is not for chronic use . . . Compound that with alcohol and you've got potential sudden liver failure. My doc did an autopsy on somone who ODed on acetaminophen and said that his liver just came apart in his hands . . .
An endocinologist buddy of mine said that if you wanted to give rats bladder cancer in the lab, you feed them acetaminophen. The possible side affects of the pain meds are really scary. You might not want to go to a pain clinic, but a competent one can literally save your life. Don't waste any time. They'll probably give you methadone and I know all of the bad rap about that, but a buddy of mine with polyneuropathy (feet feel on fire and on a bed of nails) said he got pain relief without the buzz. It's a hell of a lot better than facing dialysis every day or liver disease, etc. Repeat:PAIN CLINIC Good luck. |
