Kratom Extract Has No Effect - Any help?

SWIM ordered 4 grams of 10x Kratom extract from a reputable vendor and has tried becoming induced on this herb twice, but to no avail.

The method he took it was pouring a small amount of a fruit smoothie into the cap from the bottle, then topping it off with about 1-1.5g of the extract on top and washing it down with another drink of the smoothie [all while on an empty stomach]. He thinks that he had placebo effects about 30 minutes after indigestion but nothing noticeable from this extract. His nerve endings were very sharp as they are in normality. The only 'true' effect he felt was being a little more social while talking to others.

What is he doing wrong?
