DMT in salt form, easier and quicker?

hi, i got this chemist friend whos very interested in the chemistry of psychedelics, just for learning.
he was wondering if it would be possible to extract dmt from mimosa hostilis by using ethanol instead of water, in an aquous solution, with vineger

he wants to know if dmt salts are soluble in alcohol
he asks me all the time "if they dissolve in alcohol then why doing the smokable method then?, makin a snortable extract would be easier"

so in conclusion hes wonderin if an acid solution could be made of 2 pars ethanol 1 part vinegar, since ethanol evaporates easily

DMT freebase is soluble in alcohol, but to get a pure enough extract for use, especially if smoking is the goal, one needs to get a nearly pure freebase.. The alcohol extract, which would need no vinegar, could be used for ayahuasca, with an MAOI, orally, but would not vaporize.. The salts won't vaporize like the freebase, either.. The impure product left from the alcohol extraction would probably be about as rough insufflated as the freebase, although, SWIM hasn't tried it..

so funny this thread is here in like 15 different formats or somth and nobody came up with a real solution yet ?so I have to conclude that either its realy not possible to form a stable salt or the ones posting in the chemistry section dont want to help us out here if your friend the chemist tries it and finds a workable solution have him post it hehe,, and tellk us all to get more posts ,, to get acces to the chem section lol

I know dmt salts dissolve in alcohol and then i could defat it, but im being told that even if i filtered and defatted it well, the final product wouldnt be much pure and that it would hurt your nose.

What do you say?
what kind of water-soluble stuff would stay in the water along with the alkaloids? even so, would it be impossible to separate the unwated stuff from the alkaloids?

there must be a away of getting a snortable extract from mimosa without having to basify

Tannins and other plant gunk would be in the extract, so it probably wouldn't even make anything close to crystals.. The only way that is fairly easy for the average person to extract the alkaloids, without a bunch of other nasties, is to perform a simple acid/base extraction. SWIM doesn't think there are any easier ways, but there may be some other way with proper equipment or chemicals, although, it is still probably more difficult and expensive to perform..

I don't think that it would work all that well other than in an ayahuasca admixture.

I was wondering though if this would work,
Assuming that DMT is stored in base form in Psychotria viridis then couldn't one crush up the leaves, let it settle until the DMT and fats have migrated into the solvent, strain it off and rediloute, put the solution in a separatory funnel, shake it up and remove the fatty layer, then let the solvent evaporate. Shouldn't the gum be a potent and smokeable form of DMT?

No, chlorphyll is soluble in the solvent so the gunk wouldn't be pure enough.. Besides, the acid base extraction is how you remove the crap, trying to skip steps will not work, unless you find more selective solvents, of which, SWIM doesn't know of..

SWIM had 500MG of N-N-dmt HCL purchest from an online vender overseas... Unfortuantly its all been used and SWIM never got the chance to test it out...sorry id help if i could but i am all out of product.

I do belive its soluble in alcohol but im not sure.

Why they dont make it snortable? Well i heard its pretty painfull and the effects are much diffrent than smoking freebase.
