Conundrum: Salvia & Ethics

So one of the members of my working group has told me, every time we have paid homage to the Lady, that I am not to let him speak to .Hher again. Now this isn't a regular occurrence, we only make the pilgrimage every few months or so, and he is a reasonably responsible individual. His remarks are along the lines of "Oh yeah, THAT is why I don't like Her. I shouldn't do this again...don't let me do this anymore."

She kicks his ass in the temple, last year at a group event, my self and another saw the energies around him crystallize and slam into him as he was inhaling, the other (who is less then observant, a user but no psychonaut) asked if he was going to be ok?

And I remind him, every time he brings up making the pilgrimage, that he has told me not to let him, but off he goes asking his question to Her anyways.

So where do my responsibilities lie? I repeat what he has told me, he chooses to follow his will of the moment. Which statements are more important, those before or those after? Should I take further steps in preventing him from talking to her?

Love.
Potter.

Re: Corundum

This belongs in an ethics forum.

Did you agree to X to not let him do such? If yes - you should be bound by your word.

Re: Corundum

You did all you can do short of physically preventing him which would make things worse.

Re: Corundum

SWIM disagrees. People need to be responsible for their own actions. Asking someone else to prevent compulsive behavior is putting an unfair burden on a 'friend' which is intrinsically a setup for failure. If a person in their right mind decides not to do something, it is up to them to follow through. In the end, others cannot always be there to stop them.

Re: Corundum

That and the word a SWIM was fishing for is not 'corundum.' So I shall ethically challange the thread title....
