Good Night Says SWIM (An Opiate Story)

SWIM wanted to chill out a bit last night, so he proceeded to take 50 ml of Promethazine and 2 7,5 Vicodins. He then decided to drink a little bit, so he played pong for like 3 games and totaled about 6 beers during that time. He then came back home and took about 4 shots and 3 more beers, followed by 8 benadryls.

He said the night was very enjoyable, and woke up feeling still messed up but fresh this morning.

Re: Good Night Says SWIM

Sounds like a fun time, but be careful with mixing downers or mixing alcohol with acetaminophen-containing preparations like vicodin!

8 Benadryls? SWIM is surprised that SWIY was able to wake up today, most antihistamines put SWIM to sleep for long durations of time. Did SWIY find that the antihistamines potentiated the opioids at all?

Anyway, for opioid novices, SWIM wouldnt reccomend combining opioids with alcohol or large amounts of antihistamines...SWIM is guessing that SWIY has a fair bit of experience with these classes of drugs and knew what he was doing, SWIM just wants to caution people with less experience to not start off mixing drugs like that.

SWIM usually doesn't mix his opioids with any alcohol, since alcohol tends to leave him feeling pretty sluggish and stupid, but SWIM has noticed that low amounts of antihistamines can reduce nausea and itching, and some of them (like promethazine) seem to potentiate the combination a bit.

Glad to hear SWIY had fun, just be cautious about those combinations! SWIM wants all those lab animals out there to be safe =]

Re: Good Night Says SWIM (An Opiate Story)

SWIM says he has had several experiences like that.

He used to be very cautious about taking Alc and downers and antihistamines, however, he has tried them often enough and says he can guarantee the effect on his body.

He said that the antihistamines and opioids mix very well together, a pretty good mellow body high and a mellow state of mind.

Mix that with alcohol he says, and you will have a fun time.

Re: Good Night Says SWIM (An Opiate Story)

8 benadryls seems extreme. SWIM wonders if it might make more sense to substitue 5 or 6 of those for some valium or xanax or benzo of some type. Given SWIY's experience, if availalbe, would SWIY consider this or still lean toward the benadryls?

SWIM's never taken more than 3 maybe 4 benadryls and takes them specifically to sleep and not for any recreational effects.

Re: Good Night Says SWIM (An Opiate Story)

Paradoxically, benadryl alone out of the antihistamines makes SWIM more itchy, instead of less. SWIM just remembered that. Coupled with opiates, he can't even imagine what a scratch-fest would ensue. It would probably look like SWIM was attacked by panthers by the end of the night.

By the way, when SWIY said that he woke up messed up in the morning, was he still feeling the effects of the opiates? antihistamines? alcohol? Or was it just a general foggy-headedness?

Re: Good Night Says SWIM (An Opiate Story)

I have a question about Promethazine. I've tried to find information about whether or not promethazine itself can be used recreationally, and the only information I could find is that promethazine is often an active ingredient in medication containing codeine. I read an Ask Erowid question here, which explains that many rappers in particular talk about promethazine but perhaps might be mistaken and accidently be trying to refer to codeine.

I understand promethazine is an antihistamine, which causes anti-nausea effects and drowsiness. Does promethazine get you high, or is it simply similar to Benadryl?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Good Night Says SWIM (An Opiate Story)

Im sure you mean SWIY (Someone who isnt you) wants to know bout promethazine (Read the rules please). But it depends on what SWIY means by "high". It does make one somewhat out-of it and sluggish when taken in larger doses. It is a great mixer with opiates, and has some side effects as them too. So yes SWIdr would say it does get one "high" on some levels.

Hi and welcome to the forums! As stated above, please go over the rules, particularly those involving self incimination. A wealth of info can be found on this topic by using the forum search engine (up and slightly to the right)...and without deviating too mucch from the original post in this thread, promethazine would have some psychoactive effects on its own, as does any antihistamine, but on its own it probably wouldnt be very recreational...more similar to benadryl than to an opioid. But combined with other opioids, as in the first post in the thread, it can reduce nausea and potentiate some of the effects. More information on promethazine can be found here!
