SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time with LSD.
the othernight SWIM and an experienced tripper (SWIY) took 2 1/2 (8:40pm) hits of LSD and than another half an hour or two later.
It was SWIM's first time. It was originally a lot of fun walking around outside, etc. But as time went on, they went inside and watched movies. It became scary, SWIM could not grasp anything. Sentences, words, everything were fractured and made no sense, it took quite sometime again to come back to reality around 10am and SWIM was not able to sleep until 5pm. Because of watching the movies, the clocks, etc for SWIM time seems much slower and SWIM isn't sure why, SWIM keeps looking at the clock but doesn't really know what the deal is. SWIM hopes it will pass. |

Re: SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time.
The perception of time changes constantly but most don't notice it until some dramatic event happens. An LSD trip can be quite dramatic and, as is quite clear from the thousands of trip reports out there, time distortion is a very common theme.
You have certainly heard the expression "time flies when you're having fun". I think the opposite can be true also, time seems to slow down or even halt entirely when something bad/scary happens. When you are about to crash into the car in front of you, your whole life might seem to flash before your eyes. Simply a reaction to the natural chemicals in your brain like adrenalin. If you have ever withdrawn from a drug (or the loss of a loved one) you certainly have felt the hours of suffering drag on. It will pass. |

Re: SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time.
SWIM actually enjoys the feeling of time slowing down during trips. It seems as though he's getting more out of the time compared to taking stimulants which seem to speed time up for him. He'd much rather go on a twelve hour acid trip which seems like two days rather than take some ecstasy and be up for three to four hours which only seems like one.

Well, I stared at the clock so much during the trip, I keep doing it now. I'm not sure if time is slower or my brain is permantely fucked.

Re: SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time.
When A Certain Mouse was a pup first tripping, 2 things were hidden if possible - mirrors & timepieces. As a culture we have been conditioned to rely on timepieces. LSD can be used to decondition one's Self. Unfortunately it can also have the opposite effect of reinforcing conditioning. Another thing LSD does is dilate - streeeetch- time. What your coypu has done is confuse it's Self by staring at the clock whilst in a consciousness that cannot truly relate to what the clock is telling it - it created a dichotomy, a cleaving, as the coypu's tripping mind was not fully allowed to get on with tripping because it was overly occupied with the mundane & abstract thing we call clock. Because so much of the trip was taken up with this, your coypu is still on some level stuck there, unable to fully readjust yet to consensus reality. It will pass.
It's the weekend. Hide your clocks. Get out into the countryside with a couple of mates. Distract your coypu from his ruminations & let the trip assimilate it's Self. Most of all, don't worry too much about it - I repeat, it will pass, if your coypu lets it. It sounds like your coypu had some good acid there, & a fair bit of it - it will possibly take a few days to fully recover; in the meantime eat & drink well, don't feed your coypu any more trips, & tell it to be careful with the weed too. |

Re: SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time.
clocks....ah yes clocks. lol
once time in a place far far away swim took some shrooms. he went home about an hour later and was very fucked up. his parents were still awake and in the living room. he went into his bedroom and shapes were shootingall over the place. he looked over at his clock and it said (literally SAID) 11:33333333333 he said to himself "i need to get a grip on things" so he decided to go take a shower. he went into the bathroom and got naked. he turned the water on and got in he has standing there and all the geometrical shapes on the floor started swirlingand going 3-d he then thought "oh shit" " how long have i been in here. my parents are going to come to the door and start asking questions cause ive been in here for hours. he turned off the water and got out. he dried off and got dressed. he went back to his room and it was 11:37 he was only out of his room for 4 minutes!!!!!!! he went in the bathroom got undressed, took a shower got dressed and back in his room in 4 fucking minutes and to him it was hours. swim also went through a phase about 2 years later with the never ending ticking of clocks, it didnt matter if he was just stoned or tripping and sometimes even sober. every tick of the clock was one tick closer to death. that took some getting used to. In my opinion, the best cd that deals with this sebject is moody blues days of future passed. that is a kick ass cd |

Re: SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time with LSD.
Just to let people know, SWIM told me that it was only two or three days when he felt "normal" again. Just relaying information for some first timers perhaps.

clocks are one of those things that is better not to have around during the trip... and if sitting a tripper who constantly asks the time... feed him random numbers... jeje...

yeah clocks can get pretty scary.
SWIM has this poster of the SHREK 2 cat over his bed. you know, the huge sweet black eyes looking up to shrek that you could explode of cutiness. SWIM's seen many, many things in the eyes of it. total fascination for 1+ hour |

Re: SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time with LSD.
SWIM tripped again recently, SWIM hid all clocks to the best of his ability and only checked the time once or twice.
SWIM finds himself, after the trip, spending less time checking the time. SWIM sees this as a benefit. Perhaps, with LSD, time seems to be so elongated that you may be able to change certain habits that would otherwise take a lot of effort and time to change. Just an observation. |

Re: SWIM now obsessed with the clock! Swim's First time with LSD.
Sknot's first time was when he was in high school living at home. He took a quarter of a hit of clear windowpane and went to bed. He heard deep voices saying nothing in particular and he would stare at his clock radio numbers because they were melting. There were no LED clock radios at the time, they were the painted on type that would mechanically change. Knot just kept telling himself, "it's just a drug, it's just a drug and it will pass by morning"
