Experiences - Bali Kratom Resin Extract Experiences

Swim just got a Kratom "Resin Pie"(36g-42g). He was wondering the best way to prepare and how much to use.....

So how does one go about preparing this? SWIM figured you'd smoke the resin not melt it. SWIM has some 2g of some 15x extract and 3g of this "Kratom Pie"

3 grams of the Kratom Pie in hot tea would be the best way to go IMO. Please post SWIY's experience here.
The 2 grams of kratom 15X extract is a bit strange, as this is not enough for a good effect. Several members tried higher doses of 'kratom 15x' and felt nothing. Please post your experiences with kratom 15X in this thread: Kratom 15X extract: not 15 times as strong?

Swim likes the taste of Kratom tea so he always goes that route(unless he's hurrying and dumps powder in applesauce).Always a pleasant feeling.Surprisingly so since SWIM spent 12 years doing I.V. heroin until finnally cleaning up from it over 2 years ago.Obviously swim does not buy into AA/NA's motto"A drug is a drug is a drug",and continues to enjoy psychedelics,marijuana,occasional pharms and once-twice monthly Kratom jags. Only daily used substance is marijuana,DMT 1-2X a week,psilocybin 2-5X a month. Kratom definitely helps ward off any voices in Swims head urging him back over to the 'darkside'.

DMT once or twice a week? Just wondering, but what makes swiy have the urge to do it that often? That seems excessive for such a powerful psychedelic, but thats just swim's view, he doesn't know swiy's situation / personality.

the actives in kratom, are not very soluble in water so a water based extraction such as the "pies" is not as effective as some of the others on the market. look for standardized extracts or ones that people recommend. the water based extracts are prolly pulling other water soluble substances more than the goodies. just a heads up

Kratom tea is the way to use kratom, so i'd expect the actives to be water soluble.

they are, but they're much more soluble in other solvents other than water. extractions use better solvents than water to pull the actives then use other solvent to selectively remove the extra tars and oils to reduce the volume and increase the percentage of actives.

Excuse me, but if one of the active molecules will dissolve in, let's say 1gm/25ml H2O and also dissolves as 1gm/10ml EtOH - it wouldn't make any real difference regards it's bioavailabilty whether brewed in H2O, or as an ethanolic extract.

It sounds like an expensive waste of time to reduce it into an extract. I'd council using H2O.

what would probably be cheapest is to make your own quality extract. It makes sense because it's easier to eat and less volume to smoke

Making kratom extracts is something which has obviously puzzled kratom vendors / producers. I have seen no extracts stronger than about 2X anywhere. No matter what name they give it. They can call it 1000X for all I care. As long as the dose is around 3 grams it's 2X. So since they need 15:1 to create a dry kratom 2X extract, producers seem to be unable to produce super potent extracts. Water extracts seem to be easier, but who needs all the plant waste. The bali Kratom resin extract seems to be purified to some degree, so that is a large benefit. This all indicates to me that Kratom is pretty hard to extract. Even supercritical CO2 extraction doesn't seem to cut it.

many vendors sell a 40% alkaloidal standardized or a 6-7% mirtgn. these are standardized to contain a given amount. Try 'em out... Also I have heard a ethanol triple reflux extraction is good.

i get the feeling that some people have mastered kratom extraction, but it is true that many people simply prefer the whole leaf. I would sure like to sample some fresh leaf from an adult tree

So let me get this straight, the normal "preium powder" is just as good as the "super powders" and Extracts? Well 1/2 as strong atleast?

No one said anything about premium kratom or powders.
The higher quality kratom is about half the strength of the various extracts. Not counting the pure alkaloid extracts.

I was just wondering, what the general consensus on the Kratom Resin is at this point in time. I have searched the site but there is alot of contradictory info spread out in many many different threads, would take forever to dig through it all, so I figured I'd ask in this one. What is everyones usual dosage for the resin? Does it make any difference if it is brewed into a tea or simply eaten?

Good quality Ultra Enhanced Indo (or UEI) dose is 0.5g for beginners 1.5g more more experienced. Take 3g of this to start and you will puke, 100% guaranteed.
SWIM has never tried good quality resin unfortunately.
