Baclofen and addiction
SWIM started using Baclofen and found not bad.Benzos like him better BTW.
If he can replace Benzos with Baclofen is it good to do? SWIM would like to know if Baclofen is addictive like benzos and the side effects/bad issues about it. Thanks. |

Re: Baclofen and addiction
Baclofen is generally accepted to have low abuse liability, indeed there is much work being done on the use of baclofen in alcohol and cocaine dependence (see the "Addiction" archive for some papers on this). However if SWIY routinely uses a substance to deal with every day life then it may become difficult to manage psychologically without said substance.
Side Effects include: Drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, confusion, headache, insomnia, depression, hallucinations, slurred speech, tinnitus, blurred vision, nystagmus (eye wiggles), seizures, low blood pressure, nausea, constipation, dry mouth, taste disturbance, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, urinary frequency, urinary retention, inability to ejaculate, rash, itching and anaphylaxis Source: another site BTW: Moved to "Various" as it is NOT a Downer or Sleeping Pill Last edited by Micklemouse; 09-02-2007 at 10:55. |

This is funny,SWIM'S first thought for Baclofen was to help him for sleep instead of benzos. ![]() Do SWIY think that cannot do this? Last edited by Micklemouse; 09-02-2007 at 10:55. |

Re: Baclofen and addiction
Side Effects include: Drowsiness. This is not, however, it's primary function, which is to relieve spasticity.
It is not a "sleeping pill" in the traditional sense. |

Re: Baclofen and addiction
When looking up the side-effects of drugs in the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference), they are listed in a decreasing order: The most common to the least common. This is why you will find seeming contradictions in the literature. Such as drowsiness AND insomnia. Euphoria and dysphoria. Etc.
