Cool Pushing the mental limit -- aka true tricks to try tripping

I originally posted this on another -- private -- forum I go to, but only recieved responses ranging 'lolz trippy' to 'The ideas you provided here are among the most fascinating I've ever seen, but I really have nothing to add'. Let's see if I can turn this around here.

SWIM's been talking to a few people and SWIM's found a disappointing fact recently:

A lot of people don't do crap while tripping. SWIM must say though, this is only REAL LIFE experience, a lot of proffesional aqua transportation dudes refferred to here are rather enlightening. SWIM suppose it'swhatever, though, but if one doesn't learn to build upon things you have learned one is going to hit the mystical 50 trip limit and never have fun with it again. That just ain't cool, and my pet hamster gets large sad eyes imagining this.Listening to the same music and watching the same movies aren't goingto cut it. Even walking through the woods and writing poetry and makingabstract art with feces is going to get old.

So, SWIM wants you guys to share different things SWIY found SWIY has beenable to do while tripping, things SWIY worked on and gained progress onwhile tripping more.

Some tricks SWIM has learned (beware though, I have no doubt one or more of these could mess SWIY up badly). Followed by said triippytriix are some pointers on how to go about said thingy.

1) Completely control SWIM's hallucinations, like SWIM can cave in the world, make my walls melt, even rearrange words on a piece of paper to makenew sentences that SWIM can 100% see. This is probably the most apparent thing to do though, so it's not particularly mind blowing, but learning this extremely well will help you a lot in another idea SWIM has discovered. Plus I've heard it's, like, mega-fun, dudes.

HOW-TO-GIT-R-DONE: Controlling hallucinations isn't too tough I think, but it's toughif one isn't hallucinating strongly already. SWIM had a bad habit ofseeing the same thing over and over (salamanders crawling over eachother) so SWIM would begin to try and will them to change into somethingelse, like snakes or something. Slowly SWIM learned that it becamse assimple as thinking VERY CLEARLY (like exactly) about the hallucination one may want (SWIM mean like altering what's there, not having asuccubus strip tease you out of nowhere) and it would happen.

SWIM guesses the first thing SWIM was able to control were halls and doorways. SWIM could take a deep breath and have have them go concave like the 360,and then let it out and they would expand and wobble. SWIM FELT thehallucinations, then SWIM would try making the top be small but the bottomlarge like a fun house mirror, and things like that.

The words thing came to SWIM once when SWIM was playing with magnetic poetry(AWESOME WHILE TRIPPING) while SWIM was... tripping, and it became toomuch of a hassle to try and firt together things all the time, so SWIMwould relax my vision and they would all start wobbling around, andthen it got stronger and stronger and the words began crawling aroundthe fridge like ants, going under and over each other, making pathways, and SWIM found that SWIM could control all of their movements eventually, andmake sentences without actually moving them.

That's the second easiest I'd say, of all here. It's the most apparent though, and probably the first thing one would leard to do.

2) Sense swapping. Now, this is pretty crazy. One time, SWIM tricked my brain into tasting sound. Ithurt badly actually, and SWIM was mildly disoriented with all my sense fordays. SWIM had an eye appointment two days later, and SWIM completely botchedit, SWIM couldn't read crap no matter what lens they put on me. But withlater tries it became SWIM's favourite thing to do, but it's tough. Onlyattempt hearing-seeing-smelling-tasting though. Touch... could bedangerous SWIM thinks. Taste is weird too though, one might get a nastytaste that makes you gag.

HOWDOESONEDOESIT: This is tough, but the hardest part is over I think --even realising this is possible. The easiest sense to get entangled SWIMfinds is sight and sound, since they are the most apparent. Start by playing some music and a visualizer, and begin to feel how themusic effects the patterns. Then try and hallucinate so thevisualisation expands from SWIY monitor onto the surroundings, andmaybe SWIY can get it to click enough so SWIY don't even need thevisualizer any more and you can have SWIY're wall/carpet dancing to themusic, and maybe even form one's own music video-esque thing. Whatever pleases.

Sound and taste is the only other one SWIM has gotten to work, SWIM found theproblem with sight and taste is one tries and force things based off ofalready known things, like if one sees something red one thinks apple. It's tough though, and SWIM doesn't really know how to explain how to getthis one going other than one needs to be tripping pretty hard, and justpay attention to only one's ears (the music) and one's taste buds, andsee if any strange sensations pop up on one's tongue, and latch ontothat taste if one can, and maybe rewind the song so one can recreate ituntil one has a good idea of how it works.

SWIM would be interested if anyone else knows of a pet hamster that could get it to work, for a while itjust gave SWIM massive headaches, and SWIM's vision would go like inverted...something one probably shouldn't do too much I guess, but whatever 8D

3) Feel how SWIM's body is working, SWIM starts at SWIM's heart and can feel theblood pump and fill with oxygen and spread to SWIM's muscles who contractand move SWIM's bones, and all that stuff.

TELLMEMORE: THIS is the easiest one, feeling how one's body works. In fact SWIM can doit while high. Just start some place like one's foot or heart, and talkout loud about it using one's anatomical knowledge like, "I feel myfoot, and the hair folicles growing out of it, and I can feel the coldbone inside of it, and the blood faintly pumping" and such, it'sactually incredibly easy, but very neat if done well.

4) Perhaps SWIM's greatest achievement ever - mental rewiring myself. SWIM can only dothis on deep deep Ayahuasca trips though... and screw that any time soon...but it's worth mentioning it.

WUTLIKEACOMPUTER: For this to fully make sense one needs some knowledge of how thebrain works. Think of pods and tubes, pods are knowledge bits, andtubes are pathways. Everything is connected somehow, but if one doessomething often the brain will rewire itself to make this particularaction faster, like playing guitar, or even smoking cigarettes (which partly explainsaddiction, at least the mental one, and why one can still be addicted after nicotine has leftthe body). Even video games, if something is hard at first eventuallythe brain rewires itself so that this reflex can come faster and faster.

Soin theory something in the brain controls this action, so if one couldgain enough control over one's brain one could control this action. Or one could suppose.

This whole thing was a fluke, SWIM basically went into thetwilight zone for hours when SWIM finally got Ayahuasca to work perfectly, and SWIM was basically able to feel how SWIM's brain worked, and how itrewires itself according to how often you do certain things and such. SWIM tried messing with it a little bit, like trying to make it so SWIM felthappier, or SWIM felt sadder (without actually thinking about happy or sadthings) and it definitely worked.

SWIM then tried to do something incredibly dangerous in retrospect, Itried to see if I could erase a memory, or more fantastical implant afake one. It's weird though, SWIM like... doesn't remember if SWIM succeded, SWIMjust remember trying really hard, forcing it almost, and SWIM dunno...just kinda blanked out. Shoot... maybe it worked, haha.

Of course this whole rewiring thing may be complete bullcrap, but SWIMtends to believe you can rewire yourself in some ways, especially since SWIM was able to swap senses. So whatever. I don't have any pointers foranyone on this one, just that... you prolly shouldn't do it. Neithershould I.

Few others hanging around hanging around time hanging around, but these are the biggies SWIM supposes.

SWIM SWIM SWIM Jeeeezzz. Blergh. But yeah, it's kinda all over the place, I knows... and I'm not even sure if this is the right place to post this, but it's not under one particular substance, but a plethora of psychedelics, so here it is. If it is under rhe wrong forum, feel free to shoot my kneecaps and tell me so, but please let me know where...

PLEASE ADD YOUR OWN IDEAS TOO. That's what I want to know. Plus, like any other comments are cool too. Rock on.

Re: Pushing the mental limit -- aka true tricks to try tripping

Dude the easiest way to trip is this trick were you enhale, hold down your breath (thats written wrong innit) and 'push' al the air to your head....you'll pass out and have a wacky tip then u just wake up not nowing where u r. I wouldn't do this to often and in a safe place, coz the first time I tried it I was down for 20-30 seconds and started moving around (I thought there was an earthquake ) )It helps when you have taken some form of drugs to expand the 'trip'. Oh almost forgot before holding in your breath, you got to squat (dunno wether this is written right) and then breath rapidly in and out for bout 10 to 20 seconds..and then hold in and push

Re: Pushing the mental limit -- aka true tricks to try tripping

If SWIM ever feels "energy" in any particular part of the body, then it's interesting to move it slowly around to other parts of yourself.

SWIM has practiced mentaly turning the room temperature or the ambient lighting level up and down. (even better when SWIM can do it and thier trip buddy believes it's happening)

Sniffing essential oils eyes closed is a good way to experience a kind of synaesthesia.

Yes - it is for real. The Chinese have been using this - what is called Chi - for thousands of years. It is the basis of many Martial Arts.

Look into Tai Chi Chuan.

Re: Pushing the mental limit -- aka true tricks to try tripping

Yep. Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient form of martial arts as said above.

One thing, though. I have to say I think Sweeternity is over-simplifying this concept. I personally believe that to carry out anything like this one needs to already be familiar with the disclipines and beliefs of Tai Chi Chuan.

It's the same as astral projection etc, you can't do fuck all research and expect to achieve it. Meditation is another example: you can't meditate if you don't understand the Chakra system properly.

(Ok well you can, but not in the traditional sense of the word.)

Re: Pushing the mental limit -- aka true tricks to try tripping

Swim tells me that meditation is excellent for CEVs on psychedelics or dissociatives.

Dissociatives make self-hypnosis a factor of ten easier. If one has ever played around with things like OBEs or astral projection (it is real - whether one believes it's a spiritual thing or just imagination, it does exist), one will have an advantage going in to a dissociative trance. The combination of the two is more powerful than either alone.

Swim actually enjoys tripping in public, even hard. He has no problem maintaining his composure (alcohol helps) and often feels more social than when just drinking. He knows his limits, however; there's a big difference between a maximum public dose and a maximum private dose.

Speaking of martial arts...this is going to sound like so much reefer madness, but Swim swears that he learned Kung Fu while tripping at the 3rd plateau of DXM. He has no formal combat training, save for kung fu movies and the rough-and-tumble wrestling of his boyhood.

Yet, late one night, it just kind of clicked. The trick to kung fu was revealed to him. All the positions and movements he'd seen in the movies made sense, and he found himself suddenly able to do them with fluid grace (note that he exercises regularly and is a good deal more flexible than the average person).

He asked his girlfriend to come and watch. She said it looked like the real thing. He asked her to try and hit him (lightly, but quickly); she couldn't. He blocked or sidestepped dozens of punches and kicks effortlessly.

On the other hand, said girl was as untrained as he. He can't say for certain whether he really learned something amazing or just got really fuckin high. He's doesn't like violence, so he's not about to go pick a fight to test things out (and said fight would probably end badly for him if he were mistaken). However, he's intrugued enough that he would like to one day test it out with a friend who is trained for combat.

Re: Pushing the mental limit -- aka true tricks to try tripping

To SWIBigup:

Intentional fainting has long been a "fad" amongst young people. It involves cutting the oxygen supply to the brain for a period of 3-10 seconds causing a syncope. There are two common ways of inducing the syncope (or fainting - Hum). One of these is also known as the sleeper hold. The other technique involves placing the hands on either side of the rib cage before pressing and lifting.
However it is not recommended that either of these ever be used on anyone as there are known cases of brain damage and even death.

SWIM has done this once in his life, though not whilst tripping, but just for fun. Wasn't fun. Unless you're sure about this then I'd rather stand clear of this technique.

As to how you 'hit the air in your head', that's a mind-boggler for me

Anyway, what you're suggesting is more like a means of consumption, not something you could do *whilst* tripping.
