SWIM was doing some research to find an alternative was to acheive a dopemine rush with otc and natural substances. Swim is not tha desperate to get high to use hot peppers because he has other things which are better but it was fun to research and to try to find a combination to recreat a high from an illegal drug.
Ephedrine does not cause a dopemine rush but does open up the 'vessels' (or wutever they are called) wider enabling more dopemine to go through when one get exited or in a good mood. Hot peppers contain a chemical called capsaisin. it is also found in arthritis medications otc. However, swim thinks that it is the burn + the capsasin to cause an endorphine rush. The endorphine in turn attach themselve to opioid receptors which acts as a natural painkillers called the 'runners high'. Endorphens also get released from pain(like the burn from hot peppers) or overexersion. The capsaisin also excites the dopemine receptors causeing a faster dopemine flow. In theory, the ephedrine causing the dopemine "vessels" to become wider plus the increase dopemine flow from the capsaisin will likely cause a nice short lasting high. SWIM has not experimented with this. There may be one backfire to this theory though. The capsaisin causes a constriction of the dopemine receptors while ephedrine causes them to open wider. This may cause an adverse reaction with the 2 chemicals working against eachother. Either way the chemicals are very weak in low doses and probably wouldnt cause any adverse reaction. Any responses to this? //pillz |

Re: dopemine rush with ephedrine/hot peppers?
Are you planning on just swallowing the capsaicin chilli or eating it?
Swallowing capsaicin wouldn't do much other than possible upset your digestive system or ring of fire - if a lot was consumed (in say a capsule). The high is very dependant on the pain - so I assume the more pain felt the more high later. In that respect I guess the ephedrine may help as (assuming no tolerence to stims) would give you a adrenergic boost that would help you deal with more pain. Capsaicin is very good as a deterent to injecting oxycontin in a new formulation. As ever wikipedia has a good entry... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsaicin |

Re: dopemine rush with ephedrine/hot peppers?
When SWIM was at work a co-worked had a hot sauce and was giving it to people to see there faces. SWIM tryed just a lick from a spoon, SWIM got a head rush and for a couple seconds it felt as if SWIM was on some kind of drug. The pain in SWIM throat and tongue soon grew soooooo strong SWIm was drinking milk and eating bread for 10 min.

Re: dopemine rush with ephedrine/hot peppers?
I would imagine peoples reaction to super strong chilli or capsaicin would be very subjective.
As its very related to how people deal with pain. Some people will release adrenaline and endorphins instantly, others will release later, others may get a rush when its in front of an audience etc etc. Pleasure/Pain is such a complex science. |

Re: dopemine rush with ephedrine/hot peppers?
there is a certain hot sauce at a certain restuarant that makes SWIM feel like he is very high on drugs. very strange. swim enjoys it. heavy head rush and euphoric feeling. although it does fade rather fast.
