Cops can no more choose which laws they have to enforce, than Americans can vote on how their tax-dollars are spent.

While America rolls around the world to "establish democracies," the people in America live under the gun without the abilities to make their nation a true democracy. The American government will decry anyone who stands up and points to the failure of allowing true democratic reforms to be made. And label a traitor and revolutionary those who persist to address the lack of freedoms that American citizens live under.

Remember: The FBI went after Martin Luther King Jr. and smeared his name and character - labeling him a communist and womanizing adulterer.

While this is true to an extent - I don't think it absolves them of responsibility for what are IMO, their moral wrong-doings.

Unfortunately - the fat-cats of the liquor industry that funds the "War on drugs" tend to be southern bigots. They would likely think it would be fine & dandy to take away Black people's driver's permits. To start with.

Hi there. I couldn't agree more with your statments. I'm from across the pond in the UK. At the moment our prison system is in chaos and still there are officers who are having their time and man hours drained by somebody selling a couple of ounces of cannabis. There does seem to be alot of police officer who back the legalisation of cannabis, yet even they are ignored, why? These are the people who are on the front line and see on a daily basis the effects of other crimes. At the end of the day if our goverment were to legalise it they could be making revenue way in excess of the defecit that they face for trying to make it a crime. Unfortunately I think that all politicians are scared to tackle the subject because of losing voters! If there is ever going to be any headway towards legalisation there will have to be someone with the brass balls to stand up to the old rich folk who are stuck in their ways and probably can't remember why they made it illegal in the first place!! If that happened in either Britain or the U.S. then others would certainly follow suit!

Couldn't of put it better myself! Oh and incase you were interested the lethal amount of cannabis is a 300 pound block ...... dropped from the roof of a 12 storey building straight to the brain. I have heard a death caused by weed. A lorry driver was carrying a huge load when it shifted in the trailer and caused it to tip - he died in the resulting crash.
