why bother putting mdma in at all?

looking through the lab results on e-data, i come across an entry like this

Caffeine : 10 Diphenhydramine : 8 MDMA : 5 Methamphetamine : 1 Procaine : 0.5

if you're gonna put benadryl in why put caffine in? well i guess to make money, as in cutting the purity.

but then why has mdma been put in at all? you're not really gonna feel it are you? mixed in with sleeping pills and novacaine.

i don't understand why they would bother?

Fair enough point. Turns out that many of the so-called ecstasy pills making the rounds these days don't have any MDMA in them whatsoever though. A lot of people around SWIM's neck of the woods are buying piperazines thinking that they're ecstasy.

I've been involved with dancesafe and Ecstasydata for many years now. If you spend too much time trying to find logic in the contents of pills listed on Ecstasydata.org, you will eventually start going crazy.

That said, I think I can answer this one question definitively. Pills with a little bit of MDMA in them (mixed with other actives such as meth, ephedrine, etc.) will produce essentially the same reactions with "Ecstasy testing kits" as pills which contain MDMA only. This is because the reactions for MDMA are so quick and dark that they obliterate the chance to spot other lighter colors. It's there to fool the Marquis/Mecke test.

that's not very nice is it? but i would still say buying a testing kit is worth it, as statistically its still gonna help, i'm sure?

Ecstasy testing kits are still as good at what they were made to do now as they were when they were first introduced - indicating pills which have no MDxx in them whatsoever. That alone is worth the price IMO. Most of the pills out there which are truly dangerous, as opposed to likely to cause a bad night, contain no MDMA at all. For instance, it is very rare to hear about pills containing MDMA mixed with PMA or DXM.

Then there are all the wacky pills like the one you mentioned, which one can find by searching through Ecstasydata. Some of them boggle the mind. I picture some crazy guy throwing random scoops of powders into the top of a tabletting machine.

The only thing one can do is test their pills, get them lab-tested if possible, and try to cultivate the most trustworthy sources they can.
