This is pretty funny :

Quote:
Well, the Drug War was working....and then we elected Bill Clinton as President. We can win the drug war without resorting to legalization, as shown by the consistent decrease in drug use from 1979 and 1992. However, under Bill Clinton, the drug use rate among youth aged 12-17 has increased 106 percent and marijuana use among young people has increased 141 percent. ("Preliminary Estimates from the 1995 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse," U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 8/96)
Now, I am not suggesting that Bill Clinton bears full responsibility for drug increase. Personal and parental responsibility is a must, and Clinton can't "make" people use drugs. But let's look at what Clinton did to the "War on drugs."
In 1993 and 1994, President Clinton made seven addresses to the Nation; none mentioned illegal drugs. The President's 1993 presidential papers reveal 13 references to illegal drugs in a total 1,628 presidential statements, addresses, and interviews. Of 1,742 presidential statements and other utterances in 1994, illegal drugs were mentioned only 11 times. ("National Drug Policy: A Review of the Status of the Drug War," House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight, H.Rept. 104-486, 3/19/96)
When Clinton took office in 1992, he slashed the White House Office of Drug Control Policy by 80% and cut the number of drug enforcement - agents and their training.
His National Security Council dropped the war on drugs from THIRD priority to last - 29th out of 29. (Star Tribune, 2/14/93)
His Attorney General, Janet Reno, criticized minimum mandatory jail sentences for drug crimes.
His Surgeon General, Joycelyn Elders, called for studying the legalization of drugs.
Between 1993 and 1994, the number of aircraft and ships devoted to drug interdiction was cut in half.
Even other Democrats have voiced concern on Clinton's non-existent drug policies. Congressman Charles Rangel pointed out, "I've been in Congress over two decades, and I have never, never, never found any administration that’s been so silent on this great challenge (illegal drugs) to the American people."
People should check out http://www.gargaro.com/drugs.html . It's pretty funny.

What do you think of that? I think Bill Clinton was a good president!

Have fun!

This is because Clinton understood that, for the most part, drugs are NOT a problem ANYWHERE in the world.

I also think he was a good president. Unlike other president's I acutally liked Clinton's personality. I thought the whole thing with his secretary was just hilarious!

Bill Clinton was a fantastic president. He's a heck of a guy too. Swim cooked for a $10,000 per plate charity benefit in his honor. He had Robin Williams there doing stand up, and a plethora of other celebs, sports stars, and musicians performing. His personality came right through the monitor. Unfortunately he himself couldn't be there so did a speech over vidphone. Camera only showed us from the chest up tho... sorry. had to.

It's funny how that logic never fails us. Get happily rid of the problem, and replace it with an even bigger problem. Kinda makes me scared to think what will come after George W......

Are you kidding me? Clinton was a drug warrior extrondanaire. There were more drug related arrests in the Clinton administration than in the Bush-I and Reagan administrations combined. Clinton pioneered many of the invansions of our Constitutional rights and privacy in the name of "taking down drug kingpins." Pretty much everything that Bush has done in the Patriot Act and other areas was first proposed or implemented by Clinton.

It was under Bill "build more prisons" Clinton that America's incarceration rate skyrocketed to be the highest in the world. It was under Clinton that zero-tolerance policies were enacted, leading to such ridiculous things as kids being expelled for having aspirin at school. Clinton massively increased the budget for DARE and other propoganda. Clinton massively expanded asset forfeiture laws that have led thousands of people to lose their homes, cars and money without so much as a trial.

Bush is a much more disgusting pig than Clinton, but don't ever think for a second that Slick Willy was soft on the drug war. For a summary of this drug war zealots administrations action I suggest checking out this:
http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v01/n087/a05.html?124

PS With regards to Monica Lewinsky scandal, I feel like I am in a very small minority in that I was outraged at what he was doing at the time. Not that he was getting blown, that's fine, but that he was ordering air strikes against a small defenceless country that would result in hundreds of innocent civilians dying. And all of this without so much as a Constitutional declaration of war or UN approval. He was an imperialist pig just like our current president.

Re: Ant

Rickey Martin was a staunch Bush supporter. How cool would it be to have that hack play at a party you threw for your friends? Ack!

But now Rickey Martin is in trouble! He gave Bush the FINGER! Yes, boys & gurls - the FINGER! If Rickey gave a Bush the finger - I guess he won't be playing for Rush Limbaugh's Bar Mitzvah to soon. Ahhhhhh....

Hah, no Ricky, but semi-washed up Rod Stewart was there.. swim regaled me with tales of him repeatedly voicing his opinion on such topics as "why is there no mango on my fruit Plate", "next time please have my soda at room temperature", and a crowd favorite "These flowers are hideous"
