GBL to GHB cook time?

SWIM followed "the Definitive Receipe" posted by Mr.G. After adding all the NaOH he let it stay at 100 degrees C for about 15 minutes with some stirring as he had read somewhere that this was a good thing to do to make sure the reaction was complete. There was definitely a lot of conversion that went on but there is still a bit of a solventy odor and taste. Not a lot, no where near what was there in previous batches done without heating. And the effects are noticably different than the other batches which were presumably mostly GBL, but still, maybe not complete conversion.

Anyone have this problem? Maybe leaving at temp for longer would help???

Thanks for any tips as SWIM really liked best the Dr. stuff he got once.

SWIM gets the same problem. What he does is to heat the ghb till all the h20 has evaporated. Then he cools it down and instantly it solidifies sp?. Then swiy can put it in gelcaps or mix it with water or any other non-alcoholic drink.

Re: GBL to GHB cook time?

If you don't want to solidify it then just do as SWIY first suggested, simply leave it at temp for longer making sure to continue stirring it. Still, I bet it's a whole shedload better than the last batch SWIY ended up with!

SWIM is thinking about trying for powder on his next batch. He'll let you know if he finds a definitive method.

Re: GBL to GHB cook time?

Shed load indeed! Downside of course is that it does seem to last a bit less time, or at least that's what SWIM told me. Clearly a subtly different buzz. Someone drools on his pillow sometimes...and that's at only about 1.5 grams.

Next batch will likely stay on the burner longer.

And again many thanks to Mr G for posting that excellent and clear receipe!
