Post Where are we at in drug development?

If looking at our progress with discovering/engineering/synthesizing drugs in reference to a timeline of how fast we have advanced in every other aspect of society, then do you believe we are at any cusps of new developments into recreational/mind expanding drugs as well as cures to some of the biggest diseases plauging us. In short, illicit, and legal alike, what are your thoughts on how drug research and development is being tackled? Are we stuck? and have we just merely begun potentiating the placebo effect of these new drugs with mass advertising of them. And then, the question do you think we will find a cure for aids , cancers, etc.. if so how much more time / gov't grants do we need. Or do you believe we have already found these but are cautious to use them, and wisely when you think of what a society thats evergrowing, and now more everlasting, really means.

Re: Where are we at in drug development?

There really are a lot of possibilities. Science is discovering new substances, analogues and Sasha's lab notes expose quite a few possibilities. There is plenty left in the rain forests when it comes to plants with DMT analogues and other places will surely have amazing plants in stock as well. Just think of how recently kratom appeared.
