Re: Xanax (Alprazolam): Recreational Use?

I would highly recommend for beginners, or even habitual users, to not include alcohol in the mix. Agreed, many people just get toooo tired and end up passing out, but many people swim has been around can get uncontrollably violent, and the slightest can trip the wire for it to happen. Swim has seen people like this and do things that swim would never in his life picture this person doing, but did anyway. Its a really strange combination, but hey, go hard or go home. (Not to be taken seriously)

Re: Xanax (Alprazolam): Recreational Use?

Very interesting dibramlett07. SWIM has never experienced any violent feelings or seen others react that way, but doesn't doubt it. SWIM is a firm believer than a persons state of mind and/or body chemistry completely defines the high they end up having. If you are in a bad mood, don't do it, especially when you are drinking or tripping on E or Acid! You will not have fun, it will not make you happier, it will make you trip BAD balls!
You are probably right to not mix the two for a newb, so SWIM taking back what she said yesterday! lol
But she does recommend that you stay out of the public's eye and be somewhere you feel comfortable, that goes for most drugs in SWIMs opinion though, doing drugs when you feel uncomfortable is just asking for a bad trip.
Pick a place, make sure you have what you need and hold on. Don't even THINK about driving if you are going to dose up, THAT would be even more stupid than including alcohol into the mix like SWIM stupidly suggested yesterday!
Curious as to what you decided on, or if you even have yet!

Benzodiazepines are well recognised to cause paradoxical reactions in some

Re: Xanax (Alprazolam): Recreational Use?

Most definately. Swim can take one sometimes, chill out, and fall asleep without failure really early. On the other hand, swim can take one a night, maybe a few more as the night progresses, and find himself at 8 o clock in the damn morning wondering why I havent fallen asleep yet.

Very strange drug

Re: Xanax (Alprazolam): Recreational Use?

mixing alcohol and benzodiazapines is a ticket to physical dependence. swim speaks from experience. xanax withdrawls are hideous and nothing like the average benzodiazapine. in addition to racing heart, hyperthermia, uncontrolled movement, sleep deprivation, hallucinations, and a non-existent appetite, there is also an increased risk of seizure (vs other benzodiazapines), and HELLATIOUS unforgiving screeching tinnitus at all times on varying frequencies. swim advises you enjoy your GABA agonists one at a time.

Re: Xanax (Alprazolam): Recreational Use?

SWIM just wants to point out that she retracted her suggestion. SWIM knows that everyone can have a different reaction, no matter the drug. SWIM was tweaking at the time (and is now too) and made a stupid suggestion. SWIM knows that she can enjoy the xanax/couple of drinks combo and be fine, but also knows that wouldn't necessarily be the case for another.
SWIM has never had any violent reactions and most definitely has never experienced staying up all night on it, that's also a new one for her! SWIM is bipolar, so Xanax for her could quite possibly give her a lower high, as it is also working to "chill her out" so to speak. SWIM did notice when she had high availability and sometimes decided to "indulge" (not use it as the script calls for) that her tolerance grew rather rapidly. SWIM saw how easy it was to get caught up in it. Xanax is one of SWIMs favorites, but has enough addictions to battle, she stopped Xanax easily and knows she got lucky, SWIM knows her limits I suppose.
