Afternoon SWIY's,
Swim has previously had access (legally?) to a drug called Tenuate Dospan (uk), swims experience of this drug (altho a while ago) is similar to that of Speed (uk again-not as potent as other countries)....they were banned in the uk as appetite suppressants a few years back - but they are still available at private slimming clinics. Can anyone advise or does anyone know the difference in properties of both drugs? As SWIM knows, Amph's are cut alot - and one assumes Tenuate Dospan also has fillers, but is amph based? Any ideas folks? Ta |

Re: Speed v's Amph based slimming tablets question
Tenuate (Source=Wikipedia)
Diethylcathinone, also called Diethylpropion, is a sympathomimetic stimulant drug marketed as an appetite suppressant. The popular antidepressant, Wellbutrin (bupropion) is a derivative of this chemical. Both diethypropion and bupropion have a stimulant effect on the CNS. Its mechanism of action is similar to other appetite suppressants such as sibutramine, phentermine and dextroamphetamine. Chemically, it is the N,N-diethyl analog of cathinone and dimethylcathinone. Diethylpropion is manufactured in 25 mg tablets and 75 mg controlled-release tablets (Tenuate®, Tepanil Ten-Tab®). Diethylpropion is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States. It is also used in the treatment of migraine (off-label).

Re: Speed v's Amph based slimming tablets question
The active substance in the product you mentioned is Diethylcathinone, which is an amphetamine derivative. Of course it is not pure when present as a slimming pill, it will have a lot of excipients. Diethylcathinone has stimulant properties, so it *could* feel similar to methamphetamine.
For more information, look up diethylcathinone on wikipedia and/or pubmed. EDIT: OK Sciencedj, you have clicked on "submit" earlier than me. To quote Nagognog2, "get out of my head"!

Re: Speed v's Amph based slimming tablets question
Ok thanks - didn't exactly expect a science lesson, but I did ask!
What I meant was, or should have made clearer - is that how is it a drug can be 'bought' from a clinic - which more or less does the same thing as amphs - and i did realise it wouldn't be pure amph... Thanks anyway.. Teach me not to research forums properly! |

Re: Speed v's Amph based slimming tablets question
tell some people about it if its easy to buy and some cook could find a way to produce meth out of it. ya meth slimming capabilities are only limited by the border you set. or your money.

Re: Speed v's Amph based slimming tablets question
I live in the UK and get Phentermine prescribed through a private clinic. they are great!
Are they Ampetamine based, i'm guessing they are by the 'mine' ending to the name. |
