MDMA - Snorting vs Oral

Some drugs get higher potency when snorted.. SWIM has never snorted MDMA before.

A normal Oral MDMA dose could be 2mg/kg. Does anyone know approx how many mg/kg would be needed to snort, to get the same effects as an oral dose of 2mg/kg?

SWIM isn't sure about higher potency, the effects just hit you faster for a shorter period of time.


If SWIY is looking to snort, SWIY may want to follow that up with a supplementary oral dose about an hour or two later after the snort dose to help prolong the effects.

SWIM's preference is an oral dose. Snorting is very effective, but the drip and the nasal discomfort is no consolation.

Snorting MDMA is really a huge waste. It feels quite bad in your nostrils, fairly similar to the feeling you get after snorting adderall but depending on which pills you get it can hurt quite a bit more.

Effects aren't worth it. Very short duration peak-wise, the "rush" isn't great, and is overall much weaker than a roll would be with normal consumption.


There are very few circumstances under which I'd actually advise snorting as a method of ingestion, and those aren't likely to happen.


Swim's guess would be that you'd need 1.5 - 2 times as much as an oral dose intranasal to get similar effects, though he should add that he has never snorted more than half a pill at a time.

You get a faster onset and so the rush/peak can be stronger but it diminshes quicker and the overall level of effects is much less than with other methods of consumption. Even with cocaine, you get more overall effects with oral consumption it would seem, though its a much different feeling so people may mistake it for being weaker.

True enough, but are you sure about cocaine? It is rarely taken orally.

To me, the idea of breaking up pills and sticking the resulting ground-up coloured mess full of filler and whatever else up your nose seems like a silly thing to do.

Actually yeah, check the file archive in the Cocaine section. I uploaded a few pdfs that have to do with Oral vs. Intranasal cocaine and actually Oral is stronger.


I qualified my statements in the last post by highlighting the dichotomy between the intense rush of intranasal versus the slower onset yet overall stronger effects of orally ingested cocaine.

Interesting. Of all the coke fiends that SWIM has met, none has ever talked about swallowing coke-- only sniffing, freebasing, smoking or even taking it subliingually. Perhaps the oral inefficacy of coke is a myth. I guess people are impatient! If SWIM ever gets the opportunity, he says might investigate.

Oral is better. No burn and SWIM thinks the afterglow and slow comeup are some of the best pats of the experience. Either oral or anal, SWIM aint takin it in the nose.
