Fantasy literature

I have read LOTR several times as well as the Silmarillion and found them to be excellent. However I have recently bee turned on to another fantasy epic by a close friend. It is George RR. Martins "A song of Fire and Ice". No other story has ever gripped me like this. I highly recommend this to anyone into fantasy and would like some reccomendations too.
