I had Several questions about extracting THc from Cannabis solids
1. If I seperate the mixture and evaporate the alcohol Can I smoke what's left behind?
2.Is the powder left behind able to be absorbed into the stomach lining?
3. Would the amout from 14 grams of stems be useable?

Hey SOG,

Swim has brewed up Green Dragon (Tincture of cannabis) several times but never tried evaporating the alcohol. If one was going to smoke it, it would be easier to not bother with the extraction and just smoke it. That being said, this would be an interesting experiment. Give it a try. If swim was gonna do it, he would put a small amount of whatever the residual was (powder, paste, goo) on some bud. A couple of eyedropperfuls taken orally is pretty damn couch-locking and the residual from that amount probably would be measured in micrograms, so as with anything, start small and find the dosage that works. Green Dragon is said to be able to be more quickly absorbed sublingually (under the tongue) but swim has not noticed any difference between that and just swallowing it. Well, except the discomfort of trying to hold a quarter tsp of everclear under ones tongue. It definately will be absorbed by the stomach and intestines. And lastly swim doesn't think there is enough thc in even twice that many stems to make the extraction worth while but, never having tried with stems, he is no expert. If swiy finds the answers, post 'em. That's what it's all about.

The alcohol extract could be smoked, and this is a crude hashoil that SWIY is describing.. SWIM would suggest trying a butane oil extraction, which can be found all over the net. If this is not something SWIY wants to try, then yes one can use the extract from alcohol, however, it will contain lots of chlorophyll, since there is water in the alcohol. Various solvents could be used, such as naphtha, ether, butane, etc.. Butane, usually the 5X filtered, is commonly used for extracting the THC and other oils from cannabis, and is called honey oil because it has relatively few impurities.. One can spread the extracted, sticky goo an a paper or on top of a bowl to smoke it..

SWIM does this procedure and it works EXCELLENT. SWIM has been able to produce a lot of honey oil using this procedure. The honey oil stays good a long, long time if stored in an amber glass container. SWIY can thin out the honey oil a little to spread on a joint with isopropyl alcohol (small, small amount).

Extract the THC into Booze: This is Green Dragon (or, Tincture of Cannabis).

Evaporate the Booze: This is good-old Hash Oil.
Contrary to a Post above, this stuff is pretty-darn-good.

The ONLY way to make it much purer than that is by Butane Extraction.
This makes a Hash Oil which is called Honey Oil.

But just because there's some Chlorophyll (and a few other things) in the Hash Oil, doesn't mean much.
It doesn't mean that you are getting any less of the THC extracted.
Even Honey Oil has the same amount of THC in it.

Oh yeah, that Honey Oil is Good stuff.

Open a vial of glistening Honey Oil; "anoint" a finger; spread gently on a Zig-Zag; roll it up good; Mmm.

You can see what you're getting: 95+% pure THC.

It's amazing to watch the Honey Oil spurt-out in tiny droplets. Just point your "pipe" into a glass dish.
Sputter (oh good). Blop. pshh. A FUN time.

Sure, Honey Oil easily lasts for 2 years. That little vial just waits for the right moment ... and then BANG ... it delivers.

BANG! It sure does deliver. SWIM still has little amber vials from a harvest done 6 years ago. I've stored it properly and BANG! It still works great today...hahaha
