Area law enforcement officers seized about 2,800 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $6.5 million and arrested three Hispanic males earlier this week after a shipment was intercepted at the U.S.-Mexican border.
An undercover drug operation concluded Wednesday when the drugs were seized, according to a release from the Murray Police Department. The cooperative effort with local and federal agents took place on the outskirts of Murray.
The seizure is the largest in Murray's history, according to the MPD release.
After the drugs were intercepted at border, a controlled delivery was made to the target location in Murray.
Police are not releasing at this time the names of the three Hispanic males who were arrested and taken to a federal holding facility after the delivery was made.
Other arrests are pending.
This was a joint operation between the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Murray Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Mayfield Police Department and Graves County Sheriff's Department.
