Ever Think "How many people on the planet right now are high"?

Sorta like those bumper stickers "what if the whole word farted at once".. swim wants so see one that says "what if the whole world had a bad trip at once"

It crosses swims mind all the time..not just that but then he tries to imagine what drug experiments/combinations are really being tried. Not just by joe public, but govt testing and the sort..

I disagree - to a degree. My money is on the government(s) legalizing the sales of the drugs in question - through government-owned/susidized markets. Other venues of sales/production would be as illegal, or more so, than at present.

This assumes that this has not already taken place.

the fact that 85% of americans believe that everyones going to hell execpt people who "accept" jesus (whatever the fuck that means) should be damning proof that alot more people are getting high than would like to admit.

Yup probably alot of people high right now and really it pisses swim off.Right now someone is shooting some grade a china white,someone is smoking pure opium in some lovely place in Southeast Asia,someone is falling down a k hole right now and swim isn't one of them!

define "high"... would that include all the a.d.d. meds people are on? painkillers for pain? etc.. probably a lot though guestimate is 25-65% of world

I prefer to look at this issue with a bit more sophistication. When SWIM takes psychedelics, he likes to think about a much wider range of human experience.

How many people are in pain right now? How many people are helping those who are in pain? How many people are experiencing the finest moment of their life? How many people are fucking at this moment, and how many children are being born? How many people have died during the time it took to write this sentence?

At any given moment, every single possible mode of human experience is happening, simultaneously. How can one integrate that fact into their life in a meaningful way? That is the truly interesting and profound question.

I was actually discussing this with someone today. Neat that it got bumped. Interesting even. Too tired to go on and on like I can, but I am a firm believer in the above statement as well. I think that if eveyone were on a certain chem, whatever it may be... then everyone could communicate better. But it would take even 1 in 6.5 billion people for it not to happen. That would bring a whole new meaning to integration. An uprising in cosmic chemistry. Maybe a realization that money is only power because it's what we have been taught.

Yup swim is sitting here upset at drama in his life,unable to sleep,and depressed while someone else is laying around enjoying the effects of oxycontin.It just isn't fair!Swim needs it more than some of them do.
