swim was surfing the net and came accross the bright star mdma synthesis. As swim wanted to make something himself, he bought everything and decided to attempt bright star synthesis. everything is going good so far and swim is at step 3 (making the ketone). It is the wacker oxidation of safrole. Since swim was not sure if the oil contains safrole or not, he tried step 3 with a small amount and it worked. Swim got very exicted and attempted step 3 again as written in the synthesis. unfortunately this time it didnt work. the solution is all black even after swim added HCL and mixed. Why is it black and not seperating into 2 layers?
when swim tried with a small batch, the solution was orange before mixing the HCL and when swim added HCL it instantly seperated. This time is stayed black and gave off alot alot of heat.
